Setup

1. Battery Installation

Your CR Scale JDS-100B requires two AAA batteries (included). To install the batteries:

1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale.
2. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Initial Placement

Place the scale on a flat, stable surface. Avoid placing it on soft or uneven surfaces, as this can affect accuracy. Ensure the protective flip cover is open before use.

Operating Instructions

1. Turning On/Off

• To turn the scale ON, press the ON/OFF button. The display will show "88888" then "0.00g".
• To turn the scale OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds. The scale also features a 60-second auto power-off function to conserve battery life.

2. Weighing Items

1. Ensure the scale is on and displaying "0.00g".
2. Carefully place the item to be weighed on the center of the stainless steel platform.
3. The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.

3. Unit Conversion

The scale supports four weight modes: grams (g), ounces (oz), carats (ct), and grains (gn).

• To change the unit, press the MODE button repeatedly until the desired unit is displayed.

4. Tare Function

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you only measure the contents.

1. Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00g".
3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show the net weight of the items.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

• Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
• Keep the stainless steel platform clean to ensure accurate readings.

2. Storage

• When not in use, close the protective flip cover to shield the weighing platform and display from dust and damage.
• Store the scale in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

1. Inaccurate Readings

• Issue: Readings appear inconsistent or inaccurate.
• Solution: Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface. Avoid drafts or vibrations. Recalibration may be necessary if the issue persists.

2. Scale Not Turning On

• Issue: The scale does not power on when the ON/OFF button is pressed.
• Solution: Check the batteries. Ensure they are correctly installed with the proper polarity and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.

3. Calibration Adjustment

Calibration and adjustment are performed at the factory. However, the weighing range can shift slightly during shipping or due to changes in local acceleration of gravity. If you suspect the scale needs recalibration:

1. Press the ON/OFF key to turn the scale on.
2. Wait for the display to show "0.00g".
3. Press and hold the MODE key until the display shows "CAL", then release.
4. Press the MODE key again. The display will flash the required calibration weight (e.g., "100.00g").
5. Place the required calibration weight on the center of the platform. The display will show "PASS" then return to normal weighing mode. Calibration is complete.
