Setup
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the DC input port on the back of the clock, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The clock will power on and automatically attempt to set the time.
- Battery Backup Installation: Open the battery compartment on the back of the clock. Insert 3 new AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). These batteries will maintain time and alarm settings during a power outage.
- Initial Time Setting: Upon first power-up, the clock is designed to self-set to the current time based on a default time zone (typically EST). You may need to adjust the time zone manually if it does not match your location.
Operating Instructions

- Press and hold "TIME SET" until the time display flashes.
- Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust hours, then minutes.
- Press "TIME SET" again to confirm each setting (year, month, date, time zone).
- The clock offers eight time zones: EST, CST, MST, PST, AST, HAT, AKT. Select the appropriate one for your region.
2. Alarm Setting

3. Brightness Adjustment and Auto Dim Mode
The display brightness can be adjusted to suit your preference, including an automatic dimming feature.

Figure 4: Visual representation of the DreamSky DS318 alarm clock's 6-level brightness dimmer and the auto dim mode. This feature allows users to adjust display intensity from 100% to 5% or enable automatic dimming during specific hours (e.g., 9:01 PM - 6:59 AM).
- Press the "DIMMER" button (or similar, often combined with "SNOOZE/LIGHT") repeatedly to cycle through 6 brightness levels.

4. Daylight Saving Time (DST) and Time Zone
The clock automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time and allows selection of your time zone.
- The clock is designed to automatically adjust for DST. If manual adjustment is needed, refer to the "TIME SET" instructions.
- During initial setup or manual time setting, you can select your desired time zone from the available options: EST, CST, MST, PST, AST, HAT, AKT.
5. USB Charging Port
An integrated USB port allows you to charge external devices.
