Maintenance
- Cleaning Slides/Film: Before scanning, it is recommended to clean old slides and film to remove dust and debris. An air compressor or a can of compressed air can be used to blow off dust. For stubborn particles, a soft, non-abrasive cleaning tool like a Q-tip can be used carefully.
- Cleaning the Scanner Lens: Periodically clean the scanner's internal lens to ensure optimal scan quality. Use compressed air to clear any dust bits from the film/slide slot. The product also comes with a small applicator designed for cleaning the lens.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Magnasonic Film Scanner, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Device Not Powering On: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and a working power source. Try a different USB port or power adapter.
- Image Quality Issues (Dust/Spots): Clean your slides/film thoroughly before scanning. Use the provided cleaning brush or compressed air to clean the scanner's lens and film slot.
- SD Card Not Recognized: Ensure the SD card is inserted correctly. Try reinserting it. If the issue persists, try formatting the SD card (this will erase all data) or use a different SD card.
- Images Not Saving: Check if the SD card has sufficient free space. Ensure the SD card is properly inserted and recognized by the device.
- Display Issues (Blank Screen/Flickering): Restart the device. Ensure all connections are secure.
