Setup

1. Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the charging dock on a level surface against a wall in an open area. Ensure there are no obstacles within 3 feet (1 meter) on either side of the dock and 5 feet (1.5 meters) in front of it to allow the robot to easily dock.

2. Initial Charge

Connect the charging dock to a power outlet. Place the Shark ION Robot onto the charging dock, ensuring the charging contacts on the robot align with those on the dock. Allow the robot to fully charge before its first use. The battery indicator lights on the robot will illuminate to show charging status.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting a Cleaning Cycle

Press the 'Clean' button on the robot or use the SharkClean app to start a cleaning cycle. The robot will begin navigating and cleaning your floors. For enhanced suction on heavily soiled areas, select the 'Max' mode via the app or the robot's control panel.

2. Cleaning Modes

1. Emptying the Dust Bin

The dust bin should be emptied after each cleaning cycle, especially if you have pets or high traffic. Press the dust bin release button and slide out the bin. Open the bin and discard collected debris. Close the bin securely and reinsert it into the robot.

2. Cleaning the Brushroll and Side Brushes

Periodically check the multi-surface brushroll for hair, string, or debris entanglement. Use the cleaning tool provided to cut and remove any wrapped material. Inspect the side brushes for wear or damage and replace them if necessary. Ensure they spin freely.

3. Cleaning the Filter

The filter should be cleaned weekly. Remove the filter from the dust bin and tap it gently over a trash can to dislodge dust and debris. Do not wash the filter with water, as it is a non-washable filter. Replace the filter every 2-3 months or as needed to maintain optimal suction.

Troubleshooting

• Robot not charging: Ensure the charging dock is plugged in and the robot's charging contacts are clean and properly aligned with the dock.
• Robot getting stuck: Clear any loose cables, small objects, or thick rugs that may obstruct the robot's path. Use virtual boundaries if available in the app to restrict access to problematic areas.
• Poor cleaning performance: Empty the dust bin, clean the brushroll and side brushes, and replace the filter if it's clogged or old. Ensure the robot is fully charged before starting a cycle.
