Setup
Unpacking and Placement
- Carefully unroll the GoSports Elite Golf Hitting Mat on a flat, stable surface.
- If the mat appears folded or creased from packaging, allow it to lay flat for 24-48 hours. The creases will naturally disappear over time.
- Ensure the mat is placed on a surface that can withstand golf ball impact, especially if not using a net. For optimal performance and longevity, place the mat on a firm, level surface.
Inserting Rubber Tees
The mat includes pre-drilled holes designed to accommodate the provided rubber tees. These tees allow for practice with various club types and shot heights.
- Locate the tee holes on the mat. The 5' x 4' mat features 6 different teeing positions.
- Select one of the three included rubber tees (1.5", 2.25", or 3.5") based on your desired shot type (e.g., longer tees for drivers, shorter for woods/hybrids).
- Insert the chosen rubber tee firmly into one of the designated holes. Ensure it is stable before placing a golf ball.

Operating Instructions
General Practice Guidelines
- Always ensure you have adequate space around you to swing your golf clubs safely.
- For safety, it is highly recommended to use a golf net or enclosure when hitting balls, especially indoors or in residential areas.
- The mat's commercial-grade synthetic turf is designed to simulate real grass, providing a realistic feel for your shots.
Using Different Clubs
- Drivers and Woods: Use the appropriate rubber tee height to simulate teeing off from a real tee box. The mat's durable surface is built to withstand high-speed impacts.
- Irons and Wedges: You can hit directly off the mat's turf surface. The 15mm foam backing provides cushioning and forgiveness for mis-hits, reducing stress on your joints.
- Experiment with different tee positions on the mat to practice various shot angles and stances.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the mat, simply brush off any loose debris or dirt. For deeper cleaning, you can use a mild soap and water solution with a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely.
- Storage: When not in use, especially for extended periods, store the mat in a dry, shaded area. Rolling the mat loosely (turf side out) can help prevent permanent creasing.
- Outdoor Use: While designed for outdoor use, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, intense sun, freezing temperatures) may affect the mat's longevity. Consider storing it indoors during harsh weather.
Troubleshooting
- Mat Not Lying Flat: If the mat retains creases from packaging, place it in a warm area or under sunlight for a few hours. The material will soften and flatten out. You can also place heavy, flat objects on the affected areas overnight.
- Excessive Wear in One Spot: To maximize the lifespan of your mat, rotate it periodically to distribute wear evenly across different hitting areas. The mat's design with multiple tee holes allows for this flexibility.
- Mat Sliding During Use: Ensure the mat is placed on a clean, dry, and firm surface. The non-slip foam backing is designed to minimize movement, but extreme force or slick surfaces may cause slight shifting.
