4. Setup and Assembly
4.1. Blade Installation
- Ensure the jig saw is unplugged from the power source.
- Locate the blade clamp mechanism, typically at the front of the tool.
- Open the blade clamp (refer to your tool's specific mechanism, usually a lever or screw).
- Insert the shank of the jig saw blade into the blade clamp, ensuring it is fully seated.
- Securely close the blade clamp. Gently pull on the blade to confirm it is firmly held.
4.2. Adjusting the Base Plate (Shoe)
The base plate can be adjusted for bevel cuts. Loosen the screws holding the base plate, tilt it to the desired angle (e.g., 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°), and then securely tighten the screws.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Powering On/Off
Connect the jig saw to a suitable power outlet (220-240V~50/60Hz). To start the tool, press the trigger switch. To stop, release the trigger. Some models may have a lock-on button for continuous operation.
5.2. Adjusting Speed and Pendulum Function
The jig saw features a variable speed control (800-3000 rpm) and a 4-step pendulum function. The pendulum action moves the blade in an orbital motion, which can increase cutting speed, especially in softer materials like wood. Adjust the pendulum setting based on the material and desired cut quality:
- Setting 0 (No Pendulum): For fine, precise cuts in all materials, especially metal and hard plastics.
- Settings 1-3 (Increasing Pendulum): For faster cutting in wood and softer materials. Higher settings provide more aggressive cuts but may result in rougher edges.
5.3. Cutting Techniques
Always secure your workpiece firmly before cutting. Allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging with the material. Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.

The jig saw is suitable for various applications:
- Wood Cutting: Max capacity 65 mm. Ideal for cutting irregular curves, stenciled patterns, and general wood shaping.
- Steel Cutting: Max capacity 8 mm. Use appropriate blades and lower pendulum settings for metal.
- Other Materials: Can be used for cutting plastics, ceramics, and other materials with suitable blades.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the ventilation openings of the tool to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaners.
6.2. Blade Replacement
Replace blades when they become dull or damaged. Always use sharp blades for optimal performance and safety. Refer to section 4.1 for blade installation instructions.
6.3. Storage
Store the jig saw in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children. Disconnect it from the power supply before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Tool does not start: Check if the power cord is securely plugged in. Ensure the power outlet is functional. Check for tripped circuit breakers.
- Blade not cutting efficiently: The blade may be dull or damaged; replace it. Ensure the correct blade type is used for the material. Adjust the pendulum setting.
- Excessive vibration: Ensure the blade is correctly installed and secured. Check if the workpiece is firmly clamped.
- Overheating: Ensure ventilation openings are clear of debris. Do not overload the tool. Allow the tool to cool down if it becomes excessively hot.
