1. Introduction

The Scosche Rhythm R+2.0 is an advanced heart rate monitor armband designed for accurate workout tracking. It features integrated optical sensors and an accelerometer to provide precise real-time heart rate data. 2. Setup

2.1 What's in the Box

2.2 Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge your Rhythm R+2.0. The device features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery providing up to 24 hours of use.

1. Connect the provided charging cable to the charging port on the back of the Rhythm R+2.0 unit.
2. Plug the USB end of the charging cable into a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
3. The LED indicator on the device will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

2.3 Wearing the Armband

For optimal accuracy, wear the Rhythm R+2.0 armband snugly on your upper forearm, bicep, or tricep. Ensure the optical sensor array on the back of the unit makes firm contact with your skin.

• Upper Forearm: Position the armband a few inches below your elbow.
• Bicep/Tricep: Place the armband on the fleshy part of your upper arm.

Adjust the strap to be secure but comfortable, ensuring it does not restrict blood flow or cause discomfort during activity.

2.4 Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the main button on the device for 2 seconds. The LED will flash, indicating it's searching for a connection.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the main button for 2 seconds until the LED turns off.

2.5 Pairing and Connectivity

The Rhythm R+2.0 supports both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart (BLE) for wide compatibility.

1. Ensure the device is powered on and within range of your smartphone, smartwatch, fitness equipment, or bike computer.
2. Open the fitness app or device settings you wish to pair with.
3. Look for "Heart Rate Monitor" or "Rhythm R+2.0" in the list of available devices and select it to connect.
4. The LED indicator will change (e.g., solid blue) once successfully paired.

The device is compatible with popular platforms like Wahoo, Peloton, NordicTrack, and many third-party fitness apps. Note: Some branded apps may require specific pairing procedures or may not be fully compatible. Consult your app's support for details.

3. Operation

3.1 Real-time Heart Rate Tracking

Once paired, the Rhythm R+2.0 continuously monitors your heart rate using its optical sensors and accelerometer. This data is transmitted in real-time to your connected device or app, allowing you to track your workout intensity, calorie burn, and optimize your training.

3.2 LED Indicators

The LED light on the device provides quick status updates:

• Flashing Blue: Device is powered on and actively searching for a Bluetooth/ANT+ connection.
• Solid Blue: Device is successfully connected to a paired device.
• Flashing Red: Low battery warning.
• Solid Red: Device is charging.
• Solid Green: Device is fully charged.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance and hygiene, regularly clean your Rhythm R+2.0. Wipe the sensor area and the armband with a soft, damp cloth after each use. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

4.2 Water and Dust Resistance

The Rhythm R+2.0 is IP68 rated, making it sweatproof, waterproof, and dustproof. This allows for use during intense workouts, in rainy conditions, and even while swimming. While designed for water exposure, it is recommended to avoid prolonged submersion beyond typical swimming activities to ensure longevity.

5. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on: Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the charging cable and check the LED indicator.
• Cannot pair with a device/app:
  • Ensure the Rhythm R+2.0 is powered on and the LED is flashing blue.
  • Check that Bluetooth/ANT+ is enabled on your receiving device.
  • Move the Rhythm R+2.0 closer to your receiving device.
  • Restart both the Rhythm R+2.0 and your receiving device/app.
  • Verify that your app or device is compatible with ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart heart rate monitors.
• Inaccurate heart rate readings:
  • Ensure the armband is worn snugly on your upper forearm, bicep, or tricep, with the sensor making good skin contact.
  • Clean the optical sensor area on the back of the device.
  • Avoid excessive movement or vibrations that might interfere with the optical sensor.
• Battery not holding charge: Ensure the charging cable is securely connected and the USB power source is functional. If issues persist, contact customer support.
