4. Setup and Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to correctly set up and operate your SHNITPWR Universal Power Supply:

  1. Confirm Device Requirements: Before connecting, identify your device's required voltage (V), current (A), power port type, and polarity (positive or negative center). This information is usually found on the device itself, its original adapter, or in its user manual.
  2. Check Compatibility: Ensure your device's voltage and current requirements are within the power supply's range (3V-12V, Max 2.5A 30W). Using an incorrect voltage or exceeding the maximum wattage can damage your device.
  3. Select the Correct DC Tip: Choose one of the 14 interchangeable DC tips that matches your device's power port. If your device requires a different polarity than the default (inside "+", outside "-"), use the included polarity reverse converter cable.
  4. Adjust the Voltage: Locate the yellow voltage selector dial on the power supply. Use a small tool (or your finger if accessible) to rotate the dial and set it to the exact voltage required by your device. WARNING: Always set the voltage BEFORE plugging the adapter into your device. Incorrect voltage can cause irreversible damage.

  5. Connect to Device: Attach the selected DC tip to the power supply's output cable, then insert the tip into your device's power input port.
  6. Plug into Power Outlet: Finally, plug the SHNITPWR Universal Power Supply into a standard AC 100-240V wall outlet. The blue LED indicator light will illuminate when power is supplied.
  7. Using the USB Port: The 5V 2.1A USB port can be used simultaneously with the DC output. Connect any standard USB cable to charge compatible devices.

5. Safety Precautions

  • Always verify your device's voltage, current, and polarity requirements before connecting the power supply.
  • Set the correct voltage on the adapter before plugging it into your device to prevent damage.
  • Do not exceed 80% of the power supply's maximum wattage (30W) for continuous use to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • This product is an AC to DC adapter, not a charger. It is not designed to charge devices with batteries, such as laptops, and doing so may cause damage.
  • Keep the power supply away from water, moisture, and high temperatures.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the power supply. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Built-in safety features include automatic over voltage, over current, over temperature, and short circuit cut-off.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the power supply clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Store the power supply in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid bending or crimping the power cord excessively to prevent internal wire damage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power Output:
    - Ensure the power supply is securely plugged into a working wall outlet.
    - Check if the blue LED indicator light is on. If not, try a different outlet.
    - Verify that the voltage selector is set correctly and the DC tip is firmly connected to both the adapter and the device.
  • Device Not Functioning:
    - Double-check that the selected voltage and current match your device's requirements.
    - Confirm the polarity setting is correct for your device. Use the polarity reverse converter if needed.
    - Ensure the device itself is in working order.
  • Adapter Overheating:
    - If the adapter feels excessively hot, disconnect it immediately.
    - Ensure the load on the adapter does not exceed 80% of its maximum capacity (30W).
    - Check for proper ventilation around the adapter.
