  2. Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report any damage to the carrier immediately.
  3. Retain packaging materials for potential future transport or warranty claims.

3.2 Placement

  • Place the refrigerator on a strong, level surface capable of supporting its weight when fully loaded.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources, or areas with high humidity.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation. Maintain a minimum clearance of 4 inches (10 cm) from walls or other obstructions on the sides and rear, and 12 inches (30 cm) above the unit for proper airflow to the condenser.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your refrigerator.

6.1 Cleaning the Interior

  • Disconnect power before cleaning.
  • Remove all products and shelves.
  • Clean interior surfaces with a mild, non-abrasive detergent and warm water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.

6.2 Cleaning the Exterior

  • Wipe exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
  • Clean glass doors with a glass cleaner.

6.3 Condenser Coil Cleaning

The condenser coil, located at the bottom of the unit, should be cleaned regularly (monthly or quarterly, depending on environment) to ensure efficient operation. Dust and debris buildup can reduce cooling efficiency and increase energy consumption.

  • Disconnect power.
  • Locate the condenser coil behind the bottom grille.
  • Use a stiff brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the fins.
  • Reconnect power after cleaning.

6.4 Door Gasket Maintenance

Inspect door gaskets regularly for cracks or tears. Clean gaskets with warm, soapy water to maintain a proper seal. A damaged gasket can lead to air leaks and reduced cooling efficiency.

6.5 Manual Defrost

This unit features manual defrost. When ice buildup on the evaporator coils exceeds 1/4 inch (6 mm), manual defrosting is required.

  1. Disconnect power to the unit.
  2. Remove all products from the refrigerator.
  3. Keep the doors open to allow ice to melt naturally. Place towels on the floor to absorb water.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the unit.
  5. Once all ice has melted, clean and dry the interior.
  6. Reconnect power and allow the unit to cool down before reloading products.
