3. Operating Instructions
The Bonsenkitchen vacuum sealer offers two sealing modes: Dry and Moist, to accommodate various food types.
3.1 General Vacuum Sealing Steps
- Place the food inside a vacuum sealer bag, ensuring the open end is clean and dry.
- Insert the open end of the bag into the vacuum channel of the machine.
- Close the lid firmly, pressing down on both sides until it latches securely.
- Select the appropriate mode ("Dry" or "Moist") based on your food type.
- The machine will automatically vacuum and seal the bag.
- Once complete, open the lid by pressing the side buttons and remove the sealed bag.
3.2 "Dry" Vacuum Operation
Use the "Dry" setting for solid food items without moisture, such as nuts, dried fruits, or grains. Press the "Dry" button to initiate the vacuum and seal process.

3.3 "Moist" Vacuum Operation
Select the "Moist" setting for foods with some liquid content, such as fresh meat, fish, or marinated items. This setting adjusts the sealing time to ensure a secure seal without trapping moisture.
- Vegetables: Wash and dry vegetables thoroughly before sealing. For best results, blanch some vegetables before vacuum sealing.
- Fruits: Peel fruits before sealing to preserve their taste and prevent enzymatic browning.
- Meat/Fish: For optimal results and to prevent liquid from interfering with the seal, it is recommended to freeze fish and chicken for approximately 2 hours before vacuum sealing.

4. Maintenance and Care
4.1 Cleaning the Unit
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum sealer. After each use, especially after sealing moist foods, wipe down the vacuum channel and sealing strip with a damp cloth to remove any food residue. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

4.2 Storage
Store the vacuum sealer in a dry place. For compact storage, the unit can be placed in a cabinet. Ensure the lid is not latched during storage to prevent compression of the sealing gaskets, which can affect future sealing performance.
5. Troubleshooting
- Machine does not vacuum or seal:
- Ensure the lid is fully latched on both sides. You should hear a distinct click.
- Check that the power cord is securely plugged in.
- Verify the vacuum bag is properly placed within the vacuum channel and the open end is flat.
- Air remains in the bag after sealing:
- Ensure there is no moisture or food debris on the sealing area of the bag.
- For moist foods, pre-freeze for 2 hours or use the "Moist" setting.
- Press down firmly on the lid during the vacuum process to ensure a tight seal.
- Check the sealing strip for any damage or debris.
- Bag melts or does not seal properly:
- Ensure you are using appropriate vacuum sealer bags.
- Allow the machine to cool down for approximately 1 minute after sealing 5 consecutive bags to prevent overheating of the sealing strip.
- Kitchen scale not working:
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed and are not depleted.
