1. Introduction

The FMS Pitts V2 1400mm RC Aerobatic Biplane is a high-performance remote control aircraft designed for aerobatic maneuvers. Built with robust EPO foam, it features a powerful 4258 brushless motor, 50A Hobbywing ESC, and responsive 17g servos, ensuring precise control and exhilarating flight. Its design includes authentic detailing and a large battery bay for extended flight times.

2. Safety Information

Always operate your RC aircraft in a safe and responsible manner. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to property. Please observe the following safety guidelines:

  • Read the Entire Manual: Familiarize yourself with all product features and operating instructions before use.
  • Age Recommendation: This product is recommended for users 14 years and older.
  • Flight Area: Fly in open areas away from people, buildings, and other obstacles. Avoid flying near power lines or busy roads.
  • Weather Conditions: Do not fly in strong winds, rain, or other adverse weather conditions.
  • Pre-Flight Check: Always perform a thorough pre-flight check to ensure all components are securely attached and functioning correctly.
  • Battery Safety: Use only recommended batteries and chargers. Follow all battery charging and handling instructions to prevent fire or injury.
  • Propeller Safety: Keep hands, face, and loose clothing away from the rotating propeller.
  • Maintain Control: If you lose control of the aircraft, immediately reduce throttle and attempt to regain control.

Note: This PNP version does NOT include a battery, radio transmitter, or charger.

4. Setup & Assembly

The FMS Pitts V2 features an ingeniously designed screw-together mechanism for swift and hassle-free assembly. Follow these steps:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all airplane components from the packaging.
  2. Attach Wings: Securely attach the wings to the fuselage using the provided screw-together mechanism. Ensure proper alignment.
  3. Install Wing Struts: Slide the wing struts onto the wings and secure them in place.
  4. Install Landing Gear: Attach the landing gear to the fuselage.
  5. Install Propeller: Mount the propeller onto the motor shaft.
  6. Install Receiver & Speed Control: If not pre-installed, install your receiver and speed control.
  7. Connect Servos: Connect the pre-installed servos to your receiver according to your radio system's instructions.
  8. Insert Battery: Place your 6S battery (not included) into the oversized battery compartment. Ensure it is secured to prevent shifting during flight.
  9. Center of Gravity (CG): Verify the aircraft's Center of Gravity (CG) is within the recommended range (refer to specifications section). Adjust battery position if necessary.
  10. Radio Setup: Bind your radio transmitter to the receiver and set up control throws as recommended by your radio system's manual.

5. Operating Instructions

The FMS Pitts V2 is designed for high-powered aerobatic performance. Its robust EPO construction ensures durability, while authentic detailing enhances the flying experience.

Pre-Flight Checks:

  • Ensure battery is fully charged and securely installed.
  • Check all control surfaces (ailerons, elevator, rudder) for free movement and correct direction.
  • Verify propeller is securely attached and undamaged.
  • Confirm radio signal strength and range.

Takeoff:

Position the aircraft into the wind on a clear runway. Gradually increase throttle to full, applying slight up-elevator as needed for a smooth lift-off. The powerful motor will provide ample thrust for quick takeoffs.

Flight:

The Pitts V2 is highly maneuverable, capable of a wide range of aerobatic stunts. Its responsive 17g servos allow for precise control. Practice basic maneuvers before attempting advanced aerobatics. The large capacity battery bay accommodates powerful 6S packs for extended flight times.

Landing:

Approach the runway into the wind. Gradually reduce throttle and maintain a controlled descent. Apply slight up-elevator just before touchdown for a soft landing. The robust landing gear is designed to handle various landing conditions.

6. Maintenance
