Setup Instructions

Connecting the Keyboard

The RK61 keyboard connects via a USB-C cable.

Locate the USB-C port on the back of your RK61 keyboard.
Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard.
Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer (PC, Laptop, or compatible Android device).
The keyboard will automatically be recognized by your operating system (Windows, MacOS, Android).

Operating Instructions

RGB Backlight Modes

The RK61 features multiple RGB backlight modes. Use the following key combinations to control the lighting:

Fn + \ |: Switch between 18 RGB backlight modes and 8 monochrome modes.
Fn + [ {: Adjust light speed (slower).
Fn + ] }: Adjust light speed (faster).
Fn + ; :: Adjust light brightness (dimmer).
Fn + ' ": Adjust light brightness (brighter).
Fn + Enter: Toggle between Arrow Mode and Character Mode for the /? key.

Hot-Swappable Switches

The RK61 supports hot-swappable 3-pin or 5-pin switches, allowing for easy customization without soldering.

Use the provided keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
Use the switch puller (often integrated with the keycap puller) to carefully remove the switch.
Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place.
Replace the keycap.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your keyboard, first disconnect it from your computer. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps. For deeper cleaning, remove the keycaps using the provided puller and wipe them with a damp cloth. Ensure all components are dry before reassembling and reconnecting.

Troubleshooting

Keyboard Not Responding

Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer.
Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
Test the keyboard on another computer to rule out system-specific issues.

Incorrect Key Output (e.g., Question Mark)

The keyboard has "Arrow Mode" and "Character Mode". If the `/` key produces an arrow or the `?` key requires `Fn + Shift + /`, you are likely in Arrow Mode.
To switch to Character Mode (normal `/` and `?` function), press Fn + Enter. The keyboard lights will flash to indicate the mode change.

RGB Lights Not Working or Incorrect Colors

Ensure the keyboard is properly powered.
Use the Fn key combinations (as described in "Operating Instructions") to cycle through modes and adjust brightness.
