3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

  1. Remove all packaging materials, including foam and adhesive tape.
  2. Inspect the appliance for any damage during transit. If damage is found, do not plug it in and contact your retailer.
  3. Clean the interior and exterior of the refrigerator with a damp cloth and mild detergent before first use.

3.2 Placement

  • Place the refrigerator on a flat, stable surface that can support its weight when fully loaded.
  • Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space at the back and sides for proper air circulation.
  • Avoid placing the unit near direct heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • The appliance should be installed in a dry, well-ventilated area.

3.3 Leveling

Adjust the leveling feet at the bottom of the refrigerator to ensure it is stable and level. This helps reduce vibration and ensures proper door sealing.

3.4 Power Connection

After placing and leveling the refrigerator, wait for at least 4 hours before plugging it into the power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle, preventing potential damage to the cooling system. Connect to a standard Type G power plug outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Temperature Control

The internal temperature is controlled by a dial located inside the refrigerator compartment. Settings typically range from 0 (off) to 7 (coldest).

  • For initial startup, set the dial to a medium setting, such as 5, for approximately 4 hours.
  • After the initial cooling period, adjust the dial to your desired temperature, typically between 3 and 4 for normal use. Higher numbers indicate colder temperatures.
  • Consider ambient room temperature and frequency of door opening when selecting a setting.

4.2 Food Storage

  • Store food in sealed containers to prevent odors and maintain freshness.
  • Do not overload the shelves, as this can obstruct airflow and reduce cooling efficiency.
  • Avoid placing hot food directly into the refrigerator; allow it to cool down first.

4.3 Manual Defrosting

This refrigerator features a manual defrost system. Frost will accumulate in the freezer compartment over time. Defrost when the frost layer reaches approximately 5mm (0.2 inches) thick.

  1. Turn the temperature control dial to '0' (off) and unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and place them in a cooler or another cold storage area.
  3. Leave the refrigerator door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. Place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove frost, as this can damage the appliance.
  5. Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  6. Plug the refrigerator back in and set the temperature control to your desired setting. Allow it to cool for a few hours before returning food.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

  • Interior: Clean the interior regularly with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Door Seals: Clean the door seals regularly to ensure a tight seal. A dirty seal can lead to inefficient cooling and increased energy consumption.
  • Always unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.

5.2 Power Off During Long Absences

If the refrigerator will not be used for an extended period, unplug it, empty all contents, defrost (if necessary), clean the interior, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
