1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Preciva Digital Angle Ruler. This precision instrument combines a 400mm stainless steel ruler with a digital protractor, offering accurate length and angle measurements. It is designed for various applications, including woodworking, construction, and general DIY tasks. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper operation and to maximize the lifespan of your tool.

2. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions when using the digital angle ruler:

  • Keep the device away from water and high humidity to prevent damage to electronic components.
  • Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this may affect its accuracy and functionality.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Handle the stainless steel ruler edges with care to prevent cuts.
  • Store the device in a clean, dry place when not in use.

3. Product Components

The Preciva Digital Angle Ruler consists of the following main parts:

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

The device requires one CR2032 button cell battery (included). A spare battery is often provided.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the digital display unit.
  2. Rotate the cover counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
  3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
  4. Replace the cover and rotate it clockwise to lock it securely.

4.2. Initial Power On

Press the ON/OFF button to power on the device. The LCD screen will illuminate and display the current angle.

5. Operation

5.1. Measuring Angles

To measure an angle:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Open the ruler blades to form the desired angle. The angle will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  3. For internal or external angles, position the ruler blades against the surfaces to be measured.

5.2. ZERO Function

The ZERO button allows you to set the current angle as the reference point (0.0 degrees) for relative measurements.

  • Open the ruler to any angle.
  • Press the ZERO button. The display will reset to 0.0 degrees.
  • Any subsequent angle changes will be measured relative to this new zero point.

5.3. HOLD/Rev Function

This button serves two purposes:

  • Short Press (HOLD): Press the HOLD/Rev button briefly to freeze the current reading on the LCD. An "H" symbol will appear on the screen. Press again to release the hold.
  • Long Press (Rev): Press and hold the HOLD/Rev button for a few seconds to reverse the display orientation by 180 degrees. This is useful for reading the display from different angles or when the tool is inverted.

5.4. Locking Mechanism

The locking knob allows you to secure the ruler blades at a specific angle, preventing accidental movement and preserving your measurement.

  • Once the desired angle is achieved, tighten the locking knob by rotating it clockwise.
  • To adjust the angle, loosen the knob by rotating it counter-clockwise.

5.5. Unit Conversion (Mm/Inch)

The ruler blades feature both millimeter (mm) and inch (inch) markings for length measurements.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or the ruler's finish.

6.2. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or unresponsive, replace the CR2032 battery following the installation steps in Section 4.1.

6.3. Storage

Store the digital angle ruler in a dry, dust-free environment. If storing for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting
