Key Features:
- Strong Anti-interference: Utilizes Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) pseudo-random algorithm for excellent anti-interference performance.
- 8 Channels: Provides universal SBUS/PPM standard signal output, ideal for FPV racing drones.
- Super Mini Size: Measures approximately 0.70" x 0.51" and weighs only 0.07oz, making it exceptionally lightweight and suitable for mini drones like 80mm/110mm FPV quads.
- Long Range Control: Achieves a stable remote control range of up to 1.2 miles (2km) in the air when paired with T8S/T8FB transmitters.
- Quick to Bind: Simple binding process without requiring complex settings on the controller.
2. Installation and Binding
2.1. Receiver Components

2.2. Binding Procedure
Follow these steps to bind your R8SM receiver with a compatible Radiolink transmitter:
- Place the transmitter and the R8SM receiver close to each other (within approximately 50 centimeters) and power both devices on.
- Switch on the transmitter. The LED on the R8SM receiver will begin to flash slowly, indicating it is searching for a transmitter to bind with.
- Locate the black binding button (labeled "ID SET") on the side of the receiver. Press and hold this button for more than 1 second, then release it. The LED will now flash quickly, signifying that the binding process is active.
- Once the LED stops flashing and remains steadily illuminated, the binding process is complete.
2.3. Connection to Flight Controller
Connect the R8SM receiver to your flight controller using the provided cable. Ensure correct polarity and signal pin connections.

3.1. Switching Signal Output Modes (PPM/SBUS)
The R8SM receiver supports both PPM and SBUS signal outputs. To switch between these modes:
- Quickly press the "ID SET" binding button two times within 1 second.
- A Red LED indicates PPM signal output.
- A Blue/Purple LED indicates SBUS signal output.

6. Care and Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Radiolink R8SM receiver, follow these general care guidelines:
- Keep the receiver dry and away from moisture. Water damage can severely affect electronic components.
- Avoid exposing the receiver to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Handle the receiver with care to prevent physical damage to the antenna, bind button, or connection pins.
- Ensure all connections are secure before operation to prevent intermittent signal loss.
- Regularly inspect the antenna for any signs of damage or wear.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Radiolink R8SM receiver, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Binding Failure:
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within 50cm during the binding process.
- Verify that both the transmitter and receiver are powered on.
- Confirm that the binding button (ID SET) is pressed for more than 1 second and released correctly.
- Check if the transmitter is a compatible Radiolink model (T8S, T8FB, T16D, T12D).
- No Signal Output:
- Verify that the receiver is successfully bound (LED is solid).
- Check all wiring connections between the receiver and the flight controller for correct polarity and secure fit.
- Ensure the correct signal output mode (PPM or SBUS) is selected on the receiver (Red LED for PPM, Blue/Purple LED for SBUS).
- Confirm that the flight controller is configured to receive the selected signal type (PPM or SBUS).
- Short Control Range:
- Ensure the receiver antenna is properly positioned and not obstructed by carbon fiber or metal parts.
- Check for sources of interference in the operating environment.
- Verify the transmitter's power output settings, if adjustable.
