4. Setup and Installation
Installing your SBU Boat Cover is designed to be straightforward. Follow these steps for optimal fit and protection:
- Prepare Your Boat: Ensure your boat is clean and free of sharp edges that could potentially damage the cover.
- Unfold the Cover: Carefully unfold the boat cover and identify the front (bow) and rear (stern) sections. The cover is semi-custom fit for the Ranger Comanche Z 521 S 2011.
- Position the Cover: Drape the cover over your boat, aligning the bow and stern. The elastic hem around the bottom will help guide the fit.
- Secure with Straps: Utilize the integrated buckle and strap system. Thread the adjustable tie-down straps through the buckles and tighten them securely around the boat and trailer. Ensure straps are taut but not over-tightened to prevent damage to the cover or boat.
- Check Vents: Confirm that the rear air vents are not obstructed to allow for proper air circulation and moisture escape.
Important Note:
- If your boat has a wakeboard tower, tall bow rails, or an extended swim platform, this cover might not fit properly. Please verify your boat's dimensions against the cover's design.
- Use of a support pole with the boat cover is highly recommended to prolong the life of your boat cover during storage by preventing water pooling. Support poles are sold separately.

5. Usage (Trailering, Storage, Mooring)
The SBU Grey Boat Cover is versatile and designed for multiple applications:
- Trailering: The integrated buckle and strap system ensures the cover remains secure during highway travel at generally accepted safe trailering speeds. Always double-check strap tension before trailering.
- Storage: Whether storing your boat on a trailer, dock, or boat lift, the cover provides protection from dust, debris, UV rays, and moisture. Ensure the cover is dry before long-term storage to prevent mildew.
- Mooring: For boats moored in water, the cover offers protection from sun and rain. Use of a sandbag kit is suggested for mooring purposes (sold separately) to help keep the cover in place.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your SBU Boat Cover:
- Cleaning: Clean the cover periodically with mild soap and water. Use a soft brush or sponge to remove dirt and grime. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to air dry completely before folding or storing.
- Drying: Always ensure the cover is completely dry before folding and placing it in the storage bag to prevent mildew and odors.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the cover for any signs of wear, tears, or damage. Promptly repair any small damages to prevent them from worsening.
- Storage: When not in use, store the cover in its convenient storage bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
