2. Important Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • This appliance is designed for household use only.
  • Voltage Standard: The EZBASICS Coffee Brewer can ONLY be used under USA's voltage standard. A voltage converter is required if used in other countries.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Always unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The automatic shut-off feature prevents the brewer from overheating.
  • The concealed needle design protects you from harm during usage. Exercise caution when handling the needle area.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

5. Setup

  1. Unpack the coffee maker and all components.
  2. Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface.
  3. Clean the reusable filter and drip tray with warm, soapy water before first use. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Plug the power cord into a standard USA electrical outlet.
  5. Perform a cleansing brew: Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line (10 oz) with clean water. Do not add coffee. Close the lid and press the brew button. Discard the hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times to clean the internal components.

6. Operating Instructions

The EZBASICS Single Serve Coffee Maker offers two brewing methods: using single-serve capsules or your own ground coffee.

6.1. Brewing with Single-Serve Capsules

  1. Lift the handle to open the brewing chamber.
  2. Insert a single-serve coffee capsule into the capsule holder. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  3. Pour fresh water into the water reservoir. Use the visual measurement marks (4/6/8/10 oz) to select your desired brew strength. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  4. Close the handle firmly until it clicks into place.
  5. Place your coffee mug on the drip tray. If using a taller mug, the drip tray can be removed.
  6. Press the power/brew button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin shortly.
  7. The coffee maker will automatically shut off once brewing is complete.
  8. Carefully remove your hot coffee.

6.2. Brewing with Ground Coffee

  1. Lift the handle to open the brewing chamber.
  2. Place the reusable filter into the capsule holder.
  3. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the reusable filter. Do not overfill.
  4. Pour fresh water into the water reservoir, using the measurement marks for desired strength.
  5. Close the handle firmly until it clicks into place.
  6. Place your coffee mug on the drip tray.
  7. Press the power/brew button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin shortly.
  8. The coffee maker will automatically shut off once brewing is complete.
  9. Carefully remove your hot coffee.

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker.

  • Daily Cleaning:
    • Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.
    • Remove the drip tray and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
    • If using the reusable filter, empty used grounds and wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
    • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Descaling (Monthly or as needed):

    Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.

    1. Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
    2. Place a large mug on the drip tray.
    3. Press the brew button to run a full cycle of the vinegar solution through the machine.
    4. Repeat this process until the entire solution has passed through.
    5. Run 2-3 cycles of plain fresh water through the machine to rinse out any remaining vinegar.
