HAWK'S WORK Z50

HAWK'S WORK Z50 2-Channel RC Airplane

Instruction Manual

Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your HAWK'S WORK Z50 2-Channel RC Airplane. Please read all instructions carefully before first use to ensure proper setup and flight.

Safety Information

  • Always operate the RC airplane in open, clear areas, away from people, animals, buildings, and power lines.
  • Do not fly in strong winds (over 3 m/s) as this can lead to loss of control and damage.
  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before each flight.
  • Adult supervision is recommended for children, especially during initial flights.
  • Inspect the airplane for any damage before and after each flight.
  • Keep fingers clear of propellers when the airplane is powered on.

Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your RC airplane for flight:

  1. Install Landing Gear: Carefully attach the landing gear to the designated slots on the underside of the airplane.
  2. Install Lipo Battery: Open the battery compartment on the airplane, connect the fully charged Lithium Polymer battery, and secure it inside.
  3. Install Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert 3 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Binding the Plane and Remote:
    • Turn on the airplane. The indicator light will flash.
    • Ensure the left joystick (throttle) on the remote is in the lowest position.
    • Turn on the remote control. The indicator light will flash.
    • Move the left joystick (throttle) up to the highest position, then pull it down to the lowest position. The indicator lights on both the plane and remote should become solid, indicating successful binding.

Operating Instructions

The HAWK'S WORK Z50 is designed for easy flight, featuring a built-in self-stabilization system and 6-axis gyroscope for enhanced control.

Takeoff Methods:

  • Hand Throw: Hold the airplane firmly, apply full throttle, and gently throw it forward into the wind.
  • Ground Takeoff: Place the airplane on a smooth, flat surface. Apply full throttle, and the airplane will taxi and lift off.
Two methods of takeoff for the RC airplane: hand throw and ground takeoff.

Flight Controls:

The 2.4GHz remote control allows for precise maneuvers:

  • Throttle (Left Joystick Up/Down): Controls the speed and altitude. Push up to climb, pull down to descend.
  • Direction (Right Joystick Left/Right): Controls turning. Move left to turn left, move right to turn right.
  • Trimmers: Use the left and right trimmers to fine-tune the airplane's straight flight if it drifts.

Landing:

To land, reduce throttle gradually and guide the airplane towards a clear, open area. Allow it to glide down gently. For smooth landings, aim for a slight nose-up attitude just before touchdown.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity of your RC airplane:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the airplane with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for cracks or damage. Replace any damaged propellers immediately using the provided spares.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not overcharge or over-discharge the Lithium Polymer batteries. Disconnect batteries from the airplane when not in use.
  • Storage: Store the airplane in a safe place where it won't be crushed or exposed to extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Airplane does not respond to remote. Not bound, low battery in remote or plane, out of range.Re-bind the remote and plane. Charge batteries. Ensure you are within 100m range.
Airplane flies erratically or drifts.Strong wind, unbalanced trim, damaged propeller.Avoid flying in strong winds. Adjust trimmers on the remote. Check and replace damaged propellers.
Short flight time.Battery not fully charged, old battery.Ensure battery is fully charged. Consider replacing old batteries.
Propellers not spinning.Battery disconnected, power switch off, motor damage.Check battery connection. Ensure power switch is ON. Contact support if motor is damaged.
