2. Safety Instructions

To ensure safe use and prevent injury, please observe the following safety guidelines:

  • Maximum Load Capacity: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 200 kg (approximately 440 lbs). Overloading can cause damage to the hammock or stand and lead to injury.
  • Stable Surface: Always set up the hammock on a flat, stable, and level surface. Uneven ground can cause the stand to tip over.
  • Clearance: Ensure there is adequate clear space around the hammock to prevent accidental collisions with objects or structures.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets under supervision when near the hammock. Do not allow them to play unsupervised on or around the hammock.
  • Entry and Exit: Enter and exit the hammock slowly and carefully. Avoid sudden movements or jumping into the hammock. Distribute your weight evenly.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect all components, including the wooden stand, hammock fabric, chains, and hooks, for wear, damage, or loose connections. Do not use if any part is damaged.
  • Weather Conditions: In adverse weather conditions (strong winds, heavy rain), disassemble or secure the hammock to prevent damage or injury. Store the hammock fabric indoors when not in use for extended periods.
  • Assembly: Ensure all assembly steps are followed correctly and all fasteners are securely tightened before use.

4. Setup & Assembly

Assembly requires two people for easier handling of the wooden components. Ensure you have enough space to assemble the stand.

4.1 Assembling the Wooden Stand

  1. Unpack all wooden components and hardware. Lay them out on a clean, flat surface.
  2. Identify the main curved beams and the cross-support beams.
  3. Attach the cross-support beams to the main curved beams using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure all connections are tight but do not overtighten initially.
  4. Once the basic frame is assembled, carefully stand it upright.
  5. Tighten all bolts and nuts securely. Ensure the stand is stable and does not wobble.

4.2 Attaching the Hammock

  1. Unfold the hammock fabric.
  2. Locate the metal rings at each end of the hammock.
  3. Attach one end of the hammock to a hook on the wooden stand using the provided galvanized steel chains. Adjust the chain length to achieve the desired hammock height and tension.
  4. Repeat for the other end of the hammock.
  5. Ensure both ends are securely fastened and the hammock hangs evenly. The hammock should have a slight sag for comfort but should not touch the ground when in use.

5. Operating Instructions

Using your tectake XXL Double Hammock is straightforward, but always prioritize safety.

  • Entering the Hammock: Stand facing the hammock, gently sit down in the center, and then slowly swing your legs in. Distribute your weight evenly.
  • Exiting the Hammock: Slowly swing your legs out, place your feet on the ground, and push yourself up gently.
  • Weight Distribution: For optimal comfort and safety, distribute weight evenly across the hammock. Avoid concentrating weight on one small area.
  • Movement: Gentle swaying is normal and safe. Avoid excessive swinging or sudden, forceful movements.

6. Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life of your hammock and stand.

6.1 Hammock Fabric Care

  • Cleaning: The cotton hammock fabric can be hand-washed with mild soap and cold water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before reattaching or storing.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during inclement weather or winter, remove the hammock fabric and store it in a dry, protected area to prevent mildew, fading, and wear.

6.2 Wooden Stand Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe the wooden stand with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Protection: The solid wood is treated, but regular maintenance can prolong its life. Consider applying a wood sealant or oil annually, especially if exposed to outdoor elements year-round.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all bolts and connections for tightness. Retighten as necessary. Inspect the wood for cracks or splinters and sand smooth if found.
  • Storage: If possible, store the wooden stand indoors or under a protective cover during winter months or prolonged periods of non-use to protect it from extreme weather.

6.3 Metal Components Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe galvanized chains and hooks with a damp cloth.
  • Inspection: Check for any signs of rust or deformation. Replace damaged components immediately.
