5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
The device uses a replaceable CR2032 battery. When the battery is low, the device will indicate this, and it should be replaced promptly. Data will not be lost during battery replacement.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Use a small coin or screwdriver to open the compartment cover.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
5.2. Waterproofing
The device is rated IP65 waterproof, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. While it can withstand light rain, avoid submerging the device in water or exposing it to high-pressure water streams.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Display / Faint Display: Check the battery level and replace the CR2032 battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate RPM Readings: Ensure the inductive wire is securely wrapped 5-7 times around the spark plug wire. Verify that the correct firing pattern is selected for your engine type.
- Timers Not Advancing: Confirm the inductive wire is properly connected and the engine is running.
- Buttons Unresponsive: Ensure the device is not exposed to extreme temperatures. If issues persist after battery replacement, contact customer support.
