Setup and Installation

The Rocelco MA1 monitor arm offers two primary installation methods: Desk Clamp and Grommet Clamp. Please follow the instructions carefully for your chosen method.

  1. Remove the bottom cover of the monitor arm base to access the mounting plate.
  2. Attach the desk clamp bracket to the monitor arm base using the provided screws and Allen key. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  3. Position the monitor arm on the edge of your desk.
  4. Tighten the C-clamp screw until the arm is firmly secured to the desk. Do not overtighten.

  1. Remove the bottom cover of the monitor arm base.
  2. Attach the grommet plate to the monitor arm base using the provided screws and Allen key. Insert the long bolt through the center hole.
  3. Insert the long bolt through the grommet hole in your desk.
  4. From underneath the desk, secure the arm by tightening the washer and nut onto the long bolt.

Operating Instructions and Adjustments

The Rocelco MA1 monitor arm offers a range of adjustments for optimal viewing comfort.

Rotation

The monitor can be rotated +180° to -180° (portrait to landscape orientation). Simply grasp the edges of your monitor and rotate it to the desired position.

Video 2: Instructional Video for MA1. This video demonstrates the various adjustments including rotation, swivel, tilt, and gas spring functionality.

Swivel

The arm allows for a swivel range of +90° to -90° at the monitor connection point, and 360° at the center and base. This enables you to easily share your screen or adjust your viewing angle.

Refer to Video 2 for a visual guide on swivel adjustments.

Tilt

The monitor can be tilted +90° to -45° to reduce glare and optimize viewing angles. Loosen the tilt adjustment screw, set the desired angle, and then re-tighten the screw.

Refer to Video 2 for a visual guide on tilt adjustments.

Gas Spring Tension Adjustment

The gas spring provides effortless height adjustment. If the monitor does not stay in position or is difficult to move, adjust the gas spring tension. Use the provided Allen key to turn the tension screw located on the arm. Turn clockwise to increase tension for heavier monitors, and counter-clockwise to decrease tension for lighter monitors. Adjust gradually until the monitor holds its position smoothly.

Refer to Video 2 for a visual guide on gas spring tension adjustment.

USB and Audio Ports

The base of the monitor arm includes integrated USB 2.0 and audio ports. Connect the corresponding cables from the monitor arm to your computer's USB and audio ports to enable these features. This allows for convenient charging and connectivity of your devices directly from the monitor arm base.

Cable Management

The MA1 features integrated cable management channels to keep your workspace tidy and organized.

  1. Open the cable covers located on the underside of the arm segments.
  2. Route your monitor cables (power, video, USB, audio) through these channels.
  3. Close the cable covers to secure the cables in place.

Refer to Video 1 for a visual guide on cable management.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Rocelco MA1 monitor arm, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the arm surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish.
  • Periodic Checks: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary, but do not overtighten.
  • Gas Spring: The gas spring is designed for long-term use and generally requires no maintenance. If you notice a change in its performance, re-adjust the tension as described in the "Operating Instructions and Adjustments" section.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Rocelco MA1 monitor arm, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Monitor Sags or Won't Stay Up: The gas spring tension may be too low for your monitor's weight. Increase the gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw clockwise with the provided Allen key.
  • Monitor is Difficult to Move Up or Down: The gas spring tension may be too high. Decrease the gas spring tension by turning the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
  • Arm Feels Loose or Wobbly: Ensure all mounting screws (desk clamp or grommet) are securely tightened. Also, check the screws connecting the VESA plate to the monitor and the arm segments.
  • USB/Audio Ports Not Working: Verify that the USB and audio cables from the monitor arm base are correctly connected to the corresponding ports on your computer. Check your computer's device manager or sound settings to ensure the ports are recognized and enabled.
