The USCCE Digital Alarm Clock Radio, Model UE168, is a versatile bedside device designed to provide timekeeping, alarm functions, FM radio, and convenient USB charging. Setup
Initial Power Connection
Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 5V port on the back of the alarm clock and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The display will illuminate, and the clock will be ready for setup.
Battery Backup Installation
For battery backup functionality during power outages, install 3 AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. This backup ensures time and settings are retained, and alarm/radio functions are supported, but USB charging will not operate on battery power.
Setting Time
- Press and hold the TIME SET button until the hour digits flash.
- Rotate the large SNOOZE dial on top to adjust the hour. Press TIME SET to confirm and move to minutes.
- Rotate the SNOOZE dial to adjust the minutes. Press TIME SET to confirm.
- Continue to set the 12/24-hour format and year/month/day using the same method.
Setting Temperature Unit
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) for the temperature display, locate the °C/°F switch on the side or back of the unit and slide it to your desired setting.
Operating Instructions
Display Brightness Adjustment
The 3.4-inch LCD display features a 0-100% dimmable function. Use the dedicated dimmer dial located on the side of the unit to adjust the brightness from completely off to maximum brightness, ensuring comfortable viewing in any lighting condition.
Setting Alarms
The clock features dual alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2) that can be set independently.
- Press the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button. The alarm time will flash.
- Rotate the large SNOOZE dial to adjust the hour, then press the respective alarm button to confirm and move to minutes.
- Rotate the SNOOZE dial to adjust the minutes, then press the alarm button to confirm.
- Next, select the alarm mode:
- MON-SUN: Alarm sounds every day.
- MON-FRI: Alarm sounds on weekdays only.
- SAT-SUN: Alarm sounds on weekends only.
- Choose your wake-up sound: Select from 5 built-in tones (Beep, Piano, Buzzer, Bird, Soft Music) or FM radio. Rotate the SNOOZE dial to cycle through options.
- Adjust the alarm volume (levels 1-15) using the volume buttons. The volume gradually increases when the alarm sounds.
- Press the alarm button one last time to save and activate the alarm. The alarm icon will appear on the display.
FM Radio Operation
- Turning On/Off: Press the Radio button to turn the FM radio on or off.
- Tuning Stations: Use the Tune Up/Down buttons to manually adjust the frequency. For automatic scanning, press and hold the Tune Up/Down button.
- Saving Stations: The clock can save up to 40 FM stations. Refer to the quick guide for detailed instructions on saving and recalling presets.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume Up/Down buttons to adjust the radio volume (0-15 levels).
- Sleep Timer: Press the Sleep button to activate the sleep timer. Cycle through options (10-150 minutes) to set how long the radio will play before automatically turning off.
- Headphone Jack: A 3.5mm headphone jack is available for private listening. (Headphones not included).
USB Charging Ports
The alarm clock is equipped with two front-facing USB charging ports. These ports allow you to conveniently charge your smartphone or other mobile devices while you sleep. Simply connect your device's USB charging cable to one of the ports. (Charging cables not included).
Snooze Function
When an alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE dial on top of the unit to temporarily silence the alarm for 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after the snooze period. To turn off the alarm completely, press any other button.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the alarm clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.
Battery Replacement
If the battery backup function is not working, or if the clock loses time during a power outage despite having batteries installed, it may be time to replace the 3 AAA backup batteries. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit, remove the old batteries, and insert new ones, observing correct polarity.
