  • Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycle.

Setup

Follow these steps before using your coffee maker for the first time.

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and labels from the coffee maker.
  2. Clean Components: Wash the K-Cup pod holder, ground coffee filter, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  3. Position: Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Initial Rinse Cycle:
    • Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the MAX fill line.
    • Place an empty mug on the drip tray.
    • Close the brew head lid (without a K-Cup or ground coffee filter).
    • Press the brew button. The unit will perform a hot water cycle.
    • Discard the hot water. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions

This section details how to brew coffee using K-Cup pods or ground coffee.

Brewing with K-Cup Pods

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water reservoir lid and fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Insert K-Cup Pod: Lift the brew head lid. Place a K-Cup pod into the K-Cup pod holder. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  3. Close Lid: Firmly close the brew head lid. You may hear a click as the pod is punctured.
  4. Place Mug: Place your desired mug (6 oz to 12 oz capacity) on the drip tray. For taller travel mugs, remove the drip tray.
  5. Start Brewing: Press the brew button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
  6. Completion: The coffee maker will automatically shut off once brewing is complete. Carefully remove your mug.

Brewing with Ground Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the water reservoir lid and fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Prepare Ground Coffee Filter: Lift the brew head lid. Remove the K-Cup pod holder if it is in place. Insert the reusable ground coffee filter into the brew head.
  3. Add Ground Coffee: Add your desired amount of ground coffee (typically 1-2 tablespoons) into the ground coffee filter. Do not overfill.
  4. Close Lid: Firmly close the brew head lid.
  5. Place Mug: Place your desired mug (6 oz to 12 oz capacity) on the drip tray. For taller travel mugs, remove the drip tray.
  6. Start Brewing: Press the brew button. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

  • Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
  • Drip Tray: Remove and empty the drip tray. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  • K-Cup Pod Holder/Ground Coffee Filter: After each use, remove and rinse the K-Cup pod holder or ground coffee filter. Wash with warm, soapy water as needed.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Water Reservoir: Empty any remaining water from the reservoir. It is recommended to rinse the reservoir regularly.

Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

  1. Prepare Solution: Mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 2 cups of water.
  2. Fill Reservoir: Pour the vinegar solution into the water reservoir.
  3. Run Cycle: Place an empty mug on the drip tray. Press the brew button to run a full brewing cycle with the vinegar solution.
  4. Repeat (Optional): If significant mineral buildup is present, you may repeat this process.
  5. Rinse Cycles: After descaling, run at least two full brewing cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
