Setup Instructions
Two people are required for safe and efficient setup and takedown of the canopy. Follow these steps for proper assembly:
- Unpack Components: Remove the steel frame, fitted cover, and roller storage bag from the packaging.
- Position the Frame: With a partner, stand on opposite sides of the collapsed frame. Partially pull the outer legs apart to begin expanding the frame.
- Attach Canopy Top: Drape the canopy fabric over the frame before fully extending it. Secure the corners and Velcro straps to the frame.
- Extend Frame: Continue pulling the outer legs apart until the frame is fully extended and the eave trusses lock into place. Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged.
- Adjust Height: Press the push-button sliders on each leg and extend the legs to your desired height position. There are three available height settings. Ensure all legs are set to the same height.

Important: Always ensure the canopy is properly anchored to prevent wind damage. Use the provided guylines and stakes, or additional weights (not included) for stability, especially in windy conditions.
Operating Instructions
The Shade Tech II ST100 canopy is designed for temporary outdoor use to provide shade and protection from light rain.
- Height Adjustment: To change the canopy height, press the push-button sliders on each leg and carefully raise or lower the frame to one of the three available positions. Ensure all legs are adjusted evenly.
- Wind Conditions: In anticipation of strong winds, it is recommended to lower the canopy to its lowest height setting or completely remove the fabric top and collapse the frame for safety.
- Rain Conditions: While the canopy fabric is water-resistant, prolonged heavy rain can cause water to pool on the canopy top, potentially damaging the frame. Monitor the canopy during rain and remove accumulated water if necessary. For heavy rainfall, it is best to take down the canopy.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your canopy.
- Cleaning: Clean the canopy fabric with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow the fabric to dry completely before storage to prevent mildew.
- Frame Care: Inspect the frame periodically for any signs of damage or wear. Clean any dirt or debris from the frame components.
- Storage: When not in use, store the canopy in its roller bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Anchoring: Always ensure the canopy is properly anchored, especially in windy conditions, to prevent damage to the frame and fabric.
- UV Protection: While the fabric offers UV protection, prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can degrade the material over time.
- Fire Safety: Keep the canopy away from open flames and heat sources. The fabric is not fireproof.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the following common issues and solutions:
- Canopy is unstable or sways in light wind:
- Ensure all legs are fully extended and locked into place.
- Verify that the eave trusses are fully engaged.
- Confirm that the canopy is properly anchored using stakes and guylines, or additional weights.
- Water pooling on the canopy top during rain:
- This can occur during heavy rainfall. Gently push up on the underside of the canopy to release accumulated water.
- For prolonged or heavy rain, it is recommended to take down the canopy to prevent frame damage.
- Difficulty extending or collapsing the frame:
- Ensure two people are assisting with the setup/takedown.
- Check for any obstructions or debris in the frame's moving parts.
- Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving joints if they are stiff.
- Fabric wear or tearing:
- Ensure the fabric is not rubbing against sharp edges of the frame during setup or use.
- Avoid leaving the canopy exposed to extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
- Properly secure the fabric to the frame to minimize flapping in the wind.
