Product Overview and Key Features
The Holy Stone HS420 is engineered for ease of use and fun, packed with features that enhance the flying experience.
1080P HD FPV Camera
Equipped with a 1080P HD FPV camera, the HS420 allows for real-time video transmission to your smartphone via WiFi. The camera's adjustable angle enables capturing high-quality videos and clear photos, including gesture-activated selfies.

Straightforward Operation
The drone offers simplified controls for beginners. Features like One-Key Start and Altitude Hold ensure stable hovering at a set height. Headless Mode eliminates the need to adjust the drone's position before flight, making direction control intuitive. An Emergency Stop function is also available for immediate shutdown in critical situations.

More Fun Features
Beyond basic flight, the HS420 can perform exciting stunts such as 3D flips, Circle Fly, and High-Speed Rotation. You can also customize flight paths through the dedicated mobile application. High and Low-Speed Modes cater to both novice and experienced pilots.

Modular Batteries for Extended Fun
The HS420 comes with two modular batteries, extending your flight time and ensuring more enjoyment. These batteries are designed for easy changing and safer charging.

Mini and Portable Design
Its pocket-size design makes the HS420 highly portable. The propellers are fully protected by guards, ensuring safety, especially for children. This compact design makes it ideal for various occasions, from parties to travel.

Setup Guide
1. Charging the Batteries
Before first use, fully charge both modular batteries. Connect the USB charging cable to the battery and then to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The indicator light on the charging cable will show charging status. Charging typically takes about 60-80 minutes per battery.
2. Installing Drone Batteries
Carefully insert a fully charged modular battery into the battery compartment at the bottom of the drone until it clicks into place. Ensure it is securely fastened.
3. Preparing the Remote Control
The remote control requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote and insert the batteries, observing polarity. Close the compartment securely.
4. Pairing Drone and Remote
- Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
- Turn on the drone by pressing the power button. The drone's indicator lights will flash.
- Turn on the remote control. The remote's indicator light will also flash.
- Push the left joystick (throttle) all the way up, then pull it all the way down. The drone's lights will stop flashing and turn solid, indicating successful pairing.
Note: When using multiple drones simultaneously, power on and pair each drone and remote separately to prevent frequency interference.
5. App Installation (Optional for FPV)
To use the FPV camera and advanced features, download the Holy Stone app from your smartphone's app store. Connect your phone to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named "HolyStone-HS420-XXXX").
Operating the Drone
Basic Flight Controls
- Takeoff/Landing: Press the One-Key Takeoff/Landing button. The drone will automatically ascend to a stable height or descend and land.
- Throttle (Left Joystick Up/Down): Controls the drone's altitude. Push up to ascend, pull down to descend.
- Yaw (Left Joystick Left/Right): Controls the drone's rotation. Push left to rotate counter-clockwise, right to rotate clockwise.

- Circle Fly: Activate Circle Fly to make the drone fly in a circular pattern.
- High/Low Speed Modes: Toggle between different speed settings to match your skill level and flying environment.
- Gesture Selfie: Use specific hand gestures in front of the camera to trigger photo or video recording. Refer to the app's instructions for specific gestures.
- Toss to Launch: With the drone powered on and paired, gently toss it into the air, and it will automatically stabilize and hover.
Maintenance
Propeller Replacement
If a propeller is damaged, it can be replaced using the provided propeller spanner and spare propellers. Ensure you match the new propeller to the correct motor arm (indicated by markings on the drone and propellers, typically A and B or different colors).
- Gently remove the damaged propeller using the spanner.
- Align the new propeller with the motor shaft and press down firmly until it is secure.
Battery Care
- Always use the original charging cable.
- Do not overcharge or over-discharge batteries.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If not used for an extended period, charge batteries to about 50% capacity every three months.
General Cleaning
Wipe the drone with a clean, dry cloth after use. Avoid using water or harsh chemicals. Keep the camera lens clean for optimal image quality.
Troubleshooting
- Drone not responding to remote: Ensure both the drone and remote are powered on and correctly paired. Check remote control batteries.
- Drone unstable during flight: Perform a calibration. Ensure propellers are not damaged and are correctly installed. Check for strong air currents or wind.
- Poor camera feed/connection: Ensure your smartphone is connected to the drone's Wi-Fi network. Move closer to the drone to reduce interference.
- Short flight time: Ensure batteries are fully charged. Flight time can vary based on flight style (e.g., frequent stunts, high speed).
- Drone not taking off: Check if batteries are fully charged and properly installed. Ensure propellers are not obstructed.
