5.1. AC/DC Voltage Measurement

  1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the VΩHz™+ jack.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the V~ (AC Voltage) or V- (DC Voltage) position. The multimeter will automatically select the appropriate range.
  3. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component you wish to measure.
  4. Read the voltage value on the LCD display.

Figure 5.2: Example of AC/DC Voltage Measurement.

5.2. AC/DC Current Measurement

Caution: Never attempt to measure current in parallel with a voltage source. Always connect the multimeter in series with the circuit.

  1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack. For currents up to 600mA, insert the red test lead into the mA jack. For currents up to 10A, insert the red test lead into the 10A jack.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the A~ (AC Current) or A- (DC Current) position. Use the SEL button to switch between AC and DC if necessary.
  3. Open the circuit where you want to measure current and connect the multimeter in series.
  4. Read the current value on the LCD display.

5.3. Resistance Measurement (Ω)

  1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the VΩHz™+ jack.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the Ω position.
  3. Ensure the component is de-energized. Connect the test leads across the component.
  4. Read the resistance value on the LCD display.

5.4. Continuity Test (•)))

  1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the VΩHz™+ jack.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the •))) position.
  3. Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Connect the test leads across the circuit or component.
  4. If the resistance is below approximately 50Ω, the buzzer will sound, indicating continuity.

5.5. Diode Test (™+)

  1. Insert the black test lead into the COM jack and the red test lead into the VΩHz™+ jack.
  2. Turn the rotary switch to the ™+ position.
