4. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your Xflyee Digital Chess Clock for use:

4.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the chess clock.
2. Push the battery cover to slide it open.
3. Insert the two provided AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

4.2. Power On/Off

On the bottom of the clock, locate the ON/OFF switch. Push it to the 'ON' position to power on the device. The display will illuminate, indicating it's ready for use. To power off, push the switch to the 'OFF' position.

1. After powering on, the timing rule number will be blinking on the display.
2. Use the '+' or '-' buttons to cycle through the available timing rules (01-42, F for user-programmable, 00 for user-set).
3. Press the middle button (Start/Stop/Confirm/Reset) to confirm your selection.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Starting a Game

1. After selecting and confirming your timing rule, choose which side (white or black) will make the first move by pressing the corresponding top button on that side of the clock.
2. Press the middle button (Start/Stop/Confirm/Reset) to begin the game. The timer for the chosen side will start counting down.

5.2. Pausing and Resuming

To pause the game, press the middle button. Both timers will stop. To resume, press the middle button again. The timer for the player whose turn it is will resume counting down.

5.3. Restarting the Clock

To restart the clock and return to the initial time setting for the selected rule, press and hold the middle button for 3 seconds.

5.4. Move Counter

The clock automatically tracks the number of moves made, displayed on the screen. This feature is useful for time controls that depend on the number of moves completed.
