2. Safety Information
WARNING:
- This canopy tent is designed as a temporary structure. It should not be left unattended overnight or during periods of heavy rain, strong winds, or other severe weather conditions, as this may cause significant damage to the tent and potential injury.
- Always ensure the tent is properly anchored to the ground using ropes and stakes (not included) to prevent uplift in windy conditions.
- Keep all flame and heat sources away from the tent fabric.
- Ensure all locking mechanisms are fully engaged before use.

4. Setup Instructions
Setting up your AMERICAN PHOENIX canopy tent is designed to be quick and easy, typically requiring 2-3 persons and no tools.
- Unpack the Frame: Remove the fully assembled frame with the top fabric from its bag.
- Partially Open the Frame: With at least two people, grasp opposite legs of the frame and slowly pull it open, extending it partially.
- Attach the Canopy Top (if not pre-attached): If the canopy top is separate, carefully place it over the partially opened frame. Ensure the corners align with the frame's corners.
- Fully Extend the Frame: Continue pulling the frame outwards until it is fully extended and the cross bars are taut. Ensure all thumb latch locks engage securely. Listen for a click sound to confirm engagement.
- Extend the Legs: Locate the thumb latch locks on each leg. Press the button and extend each leg to your desired height. There are 4 height adjustment positions: 9.5ft, 9.8ft, 10.1ft, and 10.4ft (maximum peak height). Ensure all legs are extended to the same height for stability.
- Secure the Canopy: Fasten the canopy fabric to the frame using any attached hook-and-loop fasteners or ties.
- Anchor the Tent: For optimal stability, especially in outdoor conditions, use ropes and stakes (not included) to anchor the tent securely to the ground.

5.1. Height Adjustment
To adjust the height of the canopy, locate the thumb latch lock on each leg. Press the button to release the lock and slide the inner leg up or down to the desired height setting. Ensure all four legs are adjusted to the same height for stability and proper canopy tension. Release the button to re-engage the lock.
5.2. Takedown and Storage
To disassemble the tent:
- Release the leg height adjustments and fully retract the legs.
- Press the thumb latch locks on the frame to release the tension and begin collapsing the frame inwards.
- Carefully remove the canopy top if it was not pre-attached.
- Fold the frame completely and place it back into its storage bag.
- Fold the canopy top neatly and store it in a dry place.
6. Maintenance and Care
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your canopy tent.
- Cleaning: Clean the canopy fabric with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage to prevent mildew.
- Frame Care: Wipe down the steel frame with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Inspect the frame for any signs of rust or damage. The anti-rust coating helps, but regular inspection is recommended.
- Storage: Always store the canopy tent in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure both the frame and fabric are completely dry before packing away.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all connections, bolts, and fabric for wear and tear. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tent is difficult to open or close. | Frame components are stiff or misaligned. | Ensure all joints are free of debris. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if necessary. Ensure proper technique with 2-3 people. |
| Legs do not lock into place. | Thumb latch lock is not fully engaged or is obstructed. | Press the thumb latch button firmly and ensure the leg slides into the designated hole. Check for any obstructions in the locking mechanism. |
| Canopy sags or collects water. | Legs are not extended to the same height or fabric is not taut. | Ensure all legs are at the same height setting. Re-adjust the canopy fabric to ensure it is stretched tightly over the frame. |
| Tent is unstable in light wind. | Not properly anchored. | Always use ropes and stakes to anchor the tent to the ground, even in mild conditions. Consider adding weight bags to the legs for extra stability. |
