2. Important Safety Instructions

  2. Fill Water Tank: Remove the 70 ml water tank by pulling it downwards. Fill it with distilled or demineralized water up to the MAX line. Reattach the water tank securely until it clicks into place.
  3. Power On: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  4. Heat Up: Turn the On/Off switch to the 'On' position. The steamer will heat up rapidly, typically within 15 seconds. The indicator light will show when it's ready for use.
  5. Initial Steam: For the first use, or if the steamer has not been used for a while, press the steam trigger for a few seconds to prime the pump and ensure continuous steam flow.

5. Operating Instructions

The Tefal Access Steam First is designed for quick and efficient garment care.

5.1 Steaming Garments

  1. Hang the garment on a hanger. Ensure the fabric is taut.
  2. Hold the steamer upright, keeping the steam head a few centimeters away from the fabric.
  3. Press the steam trigger to release continuous steam (20 g/min).
  4. Move the steam head slowly downwards over the fabric, allowing the steam to penetrate and relax the fibers.
  5. For stubborn wrinkles, you may gently press the steam head against the fabric.
  6. The steamer is suitable for all fabric types, including delicate ones.

5.2 Refreshing and Sanitizing

6. Maintenance and Care

6.1 After Each Use

  • Turn off the steamer and unplug it from the power outlet.
  • Allow the steamer to cool down completely.
  • Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water.
  • Wipe the exterior of the steamer with a soft, damp cloth.

6.2 Descaling

To prevent mineral buildup, especially if using tap water (though distilled water is recommended), descale your steamer regularly. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.

  • Mix equal parts white vinegar and water.
  • Fill the water tank with this solution.
  • Plug in the steamer and allow it to heat up.
  • Steam the solution until the tank is empty. Do this in a well-ventilated area.
  • Rinse the tank and steam head by filling with clean water and steaming until empty. Repeat twice.

6.3 Storage

Store the steamer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
