4. Setup and Installation

  2. Mounting the Pump:

The wavemaker uses a magnetic mount. Place the pump unit inside the aquarium and align the external magnet on the outside of the glass, directly opposite the pump. Ensure a secure grip before releasing the pump.

  3. Connecting the Controller:

Connect the pump's cable to the "PUMP" port on the SINE Driver controller. Ensure the connection is firm.

  4. Connecting the Power Adapter:

Connect the power adapter to the "POWER" port on the controller. Then, plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure a drip loop is formed with the power cord to prevent water from traveling along the cord to the outlet.

  5. Initial Power-On:

Once all connections are secure and the pump is submerged, plug in the power adapter. The controller will illuminate, indicating power. The pump will begin operating in its default mode.

5. Operating Instructions

The SINE Driver controller allows you to customize the wavemaker's operation. Refer to the controller layout for button and dial functions.

Controller Functions:

  • MODE Button: Press to cycle through different wave patterns and flow modes (e.g., constant flow, pulse mode, random flow). The indicator lights on the controller will show the active mode.
  • SPEED Dial: Rotate the dial to adjust the flow intensity or wave frequency within the selected mode. The speed indicator lights will show the current setting.
  • FEED Button: Press this button to activate a temporary feed mode, which pauses the pump for a short duration (typically 10 minutes) to allow for feeding without food being immediately swept away. Press again to resume normal operation.
  • WI-LE/LOCK Button:
    • Wireless Control (WI-LE): Use this function to set up master/slave synchronization between multiple SLW wavemakers. Refer to the advanced settings section for detailed pairing instructions (if applicable, typically involves holding the button).
    • Lock Function (LOCK): Hold this button to lock the current settings, preventing accidental changes. Hold again to unlock.

Adjusting Water Direction:

The pump unit can be manually rotated on its magnetic mount to direct the water flow in various directions. Gently adjust the pump's angle to achieve the desired circulation pattern in your aquarium.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Jebao SLW-30 Wavemaker.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the power adapter from the electrical outlet before attempting any maintenance.
  2. Remove from Aquarium: Carefully remove the pump unit from the aquarium.
  3. Disassembly and Cleaning:

Gently twist and pull the front cover and impeller housing to expose the impeller. Remove any debris, algae, or calcium buildup from the impeller, shaft, and housing. A soft brush or cotton swab can be used for thorough cleaning. For stubborn calcium deposits, a mild vinegar solution can be used, followed by a thorough rinse with fresh water.
