4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Setup

1. Power On: Connect the camera to a power source using the provided USB cable. The camera will automatically power on.
2. Download App: Download the "Mi Home" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
3. Create Account: Open the Mi Home app and create an account or log in if you already have one.
4. Add Device: Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner of the app to add a new device. Select the IMILAB A1 camera from the list of available devices.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is also connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
6. Scan QR Code: A QR code will appear on your phone screen. Hold the camera lens towards the QR code on your phone at a distance of approximately 15-20 cm until you hear a voice prompt indicating successful scanning.
7. Pairing Complete: Once paired, the camera will connect to the network, and you can start using it.

4.2 Mounting the Camera

The IMILAB A1 camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted on a wall or ceiling.

• Desktop Placement: Simply place the camera on a stable, flat surface like a table or shelf.
• Wall/Ceiling Mounting: Use the provided mounting base and screws. Mark the drilling points, drill holes, insert wall plugs, and secure the base. Attach the camera to the base by aligning the grooves and twisting to lock it in place.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Live View and Control

Open the Mi Home app and select your IMILAB A1 camera to access the live view. From here, you can:

• Pan/Tilt: Swipe on the live view screen to remotely control the camera's horizontal (pan) and vertical (tilt) movement.
• Zoom: Pinch to zoom in or out on the live feed.
• Two-Way Audio: Tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera or the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's location.
• Record/Screenshot: Capture video recordings or still images directly from the live view.

5.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

Configure motion detection settings within the Mi Home app:

• Detection Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity level for motion detection.
• Detection Zones: Set specific areas within the camera's view for motion detection.
• Alert Schedule: Define specific times or days when you want to receive motion alerts.
• Notification Settings: Enable push notifications to receive alerts on your smartphone when motion is detected.

5.3 Storage and Playback

The camera supports local storage via a Micro SD card and cloud storage.

• Micro SD Card: Insert a Micro SD card (up to 64GB) into the designated slot on the camera for continuous recording or event-triggered recording. Format the card via the app if necessary.
• Cloud Storage: Access recorded events from the past 7 days via the free cloud storage service (check app for details and potential subscription options for extended storage).
• Playback: Use the playback feature in the Mi Home app to review recorded footage from either the Micro SD card or cloud storage.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates through the Mi Home app to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Power Cycle: If the camera experiences issues, try unplugging it from the power source for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.
• Reset: If persistent issues occur, locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole) on the camera. Use a pin to press and hold it for a few seconds until the camera resets. This will revert settings to factory defaults.
