Performing Measurements:

  1. Outside Measurement: Place the object between the outside jaws. Gently close the jaws until they make firm contact with the object. Read the measurement from the dial and main scale.
  2. Inside Measurement: Place the inside jaws into the opening to be measured. Open the jaws until they make firm contact with the inner surfaces. Read the measurement.
  3. Depth Measurement: Extend the depth rod from the end of the caliper into the hole or recess. Rest the end of the beam on the surface and extend the rod until it touches the bottom. Read the measurement.
  4. Step Measurement: Place the step measuring face of the caliper on the higher surface and extend the slider until the lower step measuring face touches the lower surface. Read the measurement.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your Dasqua dial caliper.

Cleaning and Storage:

  • After each use, wipe the caliper clean with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dust, dirt, or moisture.
  • Apply a thin coat of light machine oil to all metal surfaces to prevent rust, especially if storing for extended periods.
  • Store the caliper in its protective case in a dry, clean environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the caliper to impact, as this can damage the precision components and affect accuracy.

Calibration:

Regular calibration is recommended to maintain measurement accuracy. The frequency of calibration depends on usage and environmental conditions. For professional use, follow industry standards or consult a certified calibration laboratory.
