4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Carrera GO!!! racing set:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all track sections, cars, controllers, and accessories from the packaging.
- Assemble the Track: Connect the track sections firmly together according to the desired layout. Ensure all connections are secure and flat. The included jump ramp can be integrated into the track layout as shown in the diagram or as desired.
- Install Guardrails and Supports: Attach the guardrails to the outer edges of curves and any elevated sections. Use the track supports to stabilize elevated track parts.
- Insert Batteries: The set requires 4 Type-D batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the power connection track section and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Connect Speed Controllers: Plug the two speed controllers into the designated ports on the power connection track section.
- Place Cars on Track: Carefully place the Chase and Marshall slot cars onto their respective lanes on the track, ensuring the guide pins are correctly seated in the track slot and the contact brushes are flat against the track's metal rails.
Note: This set is battery-operated. For continuous play, a power adapter (sold separately) can be used to upgrade to electric power.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the track is assembled and cars are in place, you are ready to race!
- Power On: Ensure the power switch on the power connection track section is in the "ON" position.
- Control Speed: Use the speed controllers to regulate the speed of your car. Pressing the trigger increases speed, and releasing it slows the car down.
- Mastering Curves: To prevent cars from derailing on curves, reduce speed slightly before entering the curve and accelerate as you exit.
- Utilizing the Jump Ramp: Approach the jump ramp with sufficient speed to clear the gap, but not so fast that the car flies off the track upon landing. Practice is key to mastering the jump!
- Fair Play: Take turns and enjoy friendly competition. If a car derails, simply place it back on the track and continue the race.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your racing set:
- Track Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the track surface and metal rails with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or cleaning agents.
- Car Brushes: Check the contact brushes on the underside of the cars regularly. If they become worn or frayed, they may need to be replaced to ensure good electrical contact with the track.
- Battery Care: If the set will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
- Storage: Store the track and cars in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
