Maintenance
Cleaning the Thermometer
- Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth.
- For the probe, use an alcohol swab or a cotton swab moistened with alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol is recommended).
- Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any cleaning solutions.
- Ensure the thermometer is dry before storage or next use.
Storage
- Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- If not in use for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your thermometer, consider the following common solutions:
- No Display/Power On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is clean. Verify correct measurement technique (distance for forehead, proper insertion for ear). Allow the thermometer to acclimate to room temperature for 30 minutes if it has been in a significantly different environment.
- Error Messages: Refer to the full user manual for specific error codes and their meanings. Often, turning the device off and on again can resolve temporary errors.
- No Beep Sound: Check if the silent mode is activated. Deactivate it if you wish to hear the measurement completion beep.
