6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning:
Wipe the cabinet surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish. Dry immediately with a clean cloth.
6.2 General Care:
- Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight.
- Avoid exposing the cabinet to excessive moisture or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Do not drag the cabinet when moving it; always lift to prevent damage to the base and floor.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Doors Not Aligning Properly:
If the cabinet doors do not align correctly (e.g., gaps are too large, doors overlap, or doors stick out/sink in), the hinges may need adjustment. Most cabinet hinges allow for three-way adjustment:
- Side-to-Side Adjustment: Turn the center screw on the hinge to fine-tune the door spacing. Turning clockwise typically moves the door closer to the cabinet frame, reducing the gap.
- Depth Adjustment: Turn the innermost screw on the hinge to move the hinge (and thus the door) forward or backward relative to the cabinet frame. This helps adjust if the doors are sticking out or sinking into the cabinet.
- Height Adjustment: Loosen the two screws that attach the hinge plate to the cabinet frame. Adjust the door up or down as needed, then re-tighten the screws.
Make small adjustments and check the door alignment after each turn. Once aligned to your preference, tighten all screws to secure the adjustment.
7.2 Cabinet Instability:
If the cabinet feels wobbly, ensure all assembly screws and cam locks are fully tightened. Confirm that the anti-tipping hardware is securely fastened to a wall stud. If the floor is uneven, consider placing shims under the base for stability.
