3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Recommended Placement:

  • Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, including the basement.
  • Place alarms inside every bedroom and outside each sleeping area.
  • For optimal protection, install a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms.
  • Avoid placing alarms within 6 feet of cooking appliances or 20 feet of furnaces to prevent nuisance alarms.

3.2 Installation Steps:

  1. Remove the mounting bracket from the back of the smoke alarm by twisting it counter-clockwise.
  2. Position the mounting bracket on the ceiling or wall at your desired location. Mark the two screw holes.
  3. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. Insert the provided wall anchors (if needed) and secure the mounting bracket with the screws.
  4. Align the smoke alarm with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks securely into place. The alarm will automatically activate upon full mounting.

Note: The smoke alarm is designed to activate automatically once fully mounted into the mounting bracket. There is no manual on/off switch for the battery.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Normal Operation:

  • In normal operating conditions, the green LED indicator will flash once every 60 seconds. This indicates that the alarm is functioning correctly.

4.2 Testing the Alarm:

  • Press and hold the Test-Hush button on the front of the alarm for a few seconds. The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating tone (3 beeps, repeating) and the red LED will flash. Release the button to stop the test.
  • Test your smoke alarm weekly to ensure it is functioning properly.

4.3 Hush Feature:
