The Hormann FCT 10-1 BS is a wireless code keypad designed for secure access control. It features an illuminated keypad for visibility in low light conditions and a hinged cover for protection. The device operates on 868 MHz and is compatible with Hormann Bi-Secur technology, as well as older Series 1 and 2 drives.
Setup and Installation
1. Battery Installation
The keypad requires 2 x 1.5 V LR03/AAA batteries (included). To install:
- Open the hinged cover of the keypad.
- Locate the battery compartment on the rear or inside the unit.
- Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment securely.
2. Mounting
The keypad is designed for wall mounting. Choose a suitable location near your gate or garage, ensuring it is within range of your gate operator. Use appropriate screws and wall plugs for secure installation. The device has an IP44 protection rating, making it suitable for outdoor use, but avoid direct exposure to heavy rain or prolonged submersion.
3. Programming Your Code
Follow these steps to set your personal access code:
- Open the cover or press any button to illuminate the keypad.
- Press the key switch button (often marked with a key symbol).
- Press numerical key 1 for the first memory space.
- Press the key switch button again.
- Enter your desired 4 to 6-digit personal code.
- Press the key switch button.
- Re-enter your personal code to confirm.
- Press the key switch button to save.
4. Teaching a Code from an Existing Hand Transmitter
To transfer a code from an existing Hormann hand transmitter:
- Hold the hand transmitter to the right side of the wireless code switch.
- Press and hold the button on the hand transmitter whose radio code you wish to transfer. The LED on the hand transmitter will illuminate blue for 2 seconds, then go out. After 5 seconds, it will flash red and blue alternately, indicating it is sending the radio code.
- Open the keypad cover or press a button to illuminate the keypad.
- Enter the personal code associated with the radio code you want to change or assign.
- Press and hold the key switch button on the keypad. The keypad's LED will illuminate blue for 2 seconds, then go out, and then flash slowly in blue.
- Once the radio code from the hand transmitter is recognized, the keypad's LED will flash quickly in blue. After 2 seconds, the LED will go out.
- Release the key switch button on the keypad once the radio code has been successfully recognized.
Operating Instructions
To operate your gate or garage door using the FCT 10-1 BS keypad:
- Open the hinged cover or press any key to activate the keypad and illuminate the keys.
- Enter your programmed 4 to 6-digit personal code.
- Press the key switch button.
- The gate operator will activate.
The keypad can control up to 10 different gate operators, each assigned to a unique personal code.
