Legal Disclaimer: Use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your physician. It is clinically verified that forehead temperature is approximately 0.5-1.0°F lower than oral temperature. Average normal forehead temperature ranges from 97°F to 99°F. Your body temperature can vary depending on activity level or time of day.

Setup
Battery Installation
- Locate the battery lid on the back of the thermometer.
- Slide the lid open to reveal the battery compartment.
- Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery lid securely.

Operating Instructions
Taking a Temperature Measurement
- Ensure there is no hair or perspiration on the forehead.
- Click the ON/SCAN/OFF button to turn on the thermometer.
- Aim the thermometer at the center of the forehead, maintaining a distance of 0.6" to 2.0" from the skin.
- Click the ON/SCAN/OFF button again to initiate the measurement.
- The display will show the measurement result within approximately 1 second.

Fever Indicator
The Amplim thermometer features a fever indicator. A high temperature alarm is set at 100.1°F (37.8°C) to alert you to elevated readings.
Fahrenheit/Celsius Switching
The device allows switching between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) units. Refer to the user manual for specific instructions on how to toggle between these modes.

Memory Function
The Amplim thermometer stores up to 32 previous temperature readings. To recall memory, when the power is off, hold the ON/SCAN/OFF button for 4 seconds. The display will cycle through the stored measurements.

Troubleshooting and Important Notes
- "Lo" Message: If the display shows "Lo", it indicates the temperature is lower than 89.6°F (32°C). This can occur if the thermometer is aimed in the air instead of the forehead, and the ambient air temperature is below 89.6°F (32°C). Retake the temperature by aiming the thermometer at the center of the forehead, between 0.6" - 2.0" from the skin.
- Acclimation: Allow the thermometer to acclimate to ambient temperature for 30 minutes when there is a significant change in ambient temperature (e.g., when moving from outdoors to indoors).
- Measurement Intervals: It is important to allow a 5-second interval between measurements for consistent and accurate readings.
