4.2 Mounting the Controller

Mount the controller vertically on a non-flammable surface, ensuring adequate airflow around the heat sink for optimal cooling. Avoid mounting in direct sunlight or areas with high humidity.

4.3 Wiring Connections

Important: Follow the connection order strictly to prevent damage. Connect the battery first, then the solar panel, and finally the load. When disconnecting, follow the reverse order: disconnect the load, then the solar panel, then the battery.

  1. Connect the Battery: Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables from your battery bank to the corresponding battery terminals on the controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Connect the Solar Panel: Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables from your solar panel array to the corresponding PV terminals on the controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  3. Connect the Load: Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables from your DC loads to the corresponding load terminals on the controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  4. Connect Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS): Plug the RTS cable into the designated port for accurate battery temperature compensation.
  5. Connect Communication Accessories (Optional): For remote monitoring or advanced settings, connect accessories like the MT50 remote meter, eBox-WiFi-01, or eBox-BLE-01 to the RS485 port.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 LCD Display Navigation

The controller features an LCD display and two buttons: 'SELECT' and 'ENTER'.

  • Press 'SELECT' to cycle through different display interfaces (e.g., battery voltage, PV voltage, charging current, load status).
  • Press 'ENTER' to confirm selections or enter parameter setting modes.
  • Long-press 'ENTER' to enter or exit parameter modification mode.

5.2 Battery Type Setting

To ensure optimal charging, set the correct battery type:

  1. Navigate to the battery voltage interface on the LCD.
  2. Long-press the 'ENTER' button to enter the battery type setting interface.
  3. Use the 'SELECT' button to choose between Sealed, Gel, Flooded, or User.
  4. After selecting, wait for 5 seconds or press 'ENTER' again to confirm and save the setting.
