Introduction

The Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee and Espresso Maker, bundled with the Aeroccino Milk Frother, offers a versatile and convenient brewing experience. This machine utilizes Centrifusion technology to extract rich flavors and a smooth layer of crema from Nespresso Vertuo Line pods. It is designed to prepare various coffee and espresso sizes, including 5oz, 8oz, 14oz, and 18oz coffees, as well as single and double espressos. The included Aeroccino3 frother allows for effortless preparation of hot or cold milk froth, enhancing your coffee recipes.

Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using the Nespresso Vertuo Next machine and Aeroccino3 frother. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the machine is connected to a grounded power outlet with the correct voltage (120V). Do not immerse the machine, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Hot Surfaces: The machine and dispensed coffee/espresso can be hot. Exercise caution to avoid burns.
  • Child Safety: Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Supervise children if they are near the appliance.
  • Maintenance: Unplug the machine before cleaning and when not in use. Do not operate the machine with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Water Quality: Use only fresh, potable water in the water tank.

Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all included items are present: Nespresso Vertuo Next machine, Aeroccino3 frother, capsule tasting pack, and instruction booklets.

  3. Position the Machine: Place the machine on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources.
  4. Fill Water Tank: Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, potable water up to the maximum level indicated. Place the water tank back securely onto the machine.
  5. Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle. Ensure the water tank is filled. Place a container (at least 18 oz) under the coffee outlet. Close the machine head by sliding the lever to the locked position. Press the button on top of the machine three times quickly. The machine will start a cleaning cycle, dispensing hot water. Repeat this process if desired.
  6. Aeroccino3 Setup: Place the Aeroccino3 on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the whisk is correctly inserted inside the frother.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee/Espresso

  1. Power On: Ensure the machine is plugged in. The button on top will illuminate.
  2. Open Machine Head: Slide the lever on top of the machine to the unlocked position and lift the machine head.

  4. Insert Capsule: Place a Nespresso Vertuo Line capsule into the capsule holder. The machine automatically recognizes the barcode on the capsule to adjust brewing parameters.
  5. Close and Lock: Close the machine head and slide the lever to the locked position.

  7. Place Cup: Position your desired cup under the coffee outlet. The cup support can be adjusted for different cup sizes.
  8. Start Brewing: Press the button on top of the machine once. The machine will begin brewing. The light will blink during brewing and become steady when complete.

  10. Automated Capsule Ejection: After brewing, when you open the machine head, the used capsule will automatically be ejected into the used capsule container.

Using the Aeroccino3 Milk Frother

  1. Fill with Milk: Pour fresh, cold milk into the Aeroccino3. Do not exceed the maximum fill lines indicated inside the frother for milk or froth.
  2. Select Frothing Type:
    • For hot milk froth: Press the button once. The light will be red.
    • For cold milk froth: Press and hold the button for 2 seconds. The light will be blue.
  3. Start Frothing: The frother will automatically stop when the milk is ready.
  4. Pour: Carefully pour the frothed milk into your coffee or espresso.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Machine

  • Daily Cleaning:
    • Empty and rinse the used capsule container and drip tray daily.
    • Wipe the machine exterior with a damp cloth.
  • Water Tank: Clean the water tank regularly with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
  • Coffee Outlet: Periodically clean the coffee outlet area with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the Aeroccino3

  • Immediately After Use: Clean the inside of the frother and the whisk immediately after each use with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.
  • Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the Aeroccino3 base or the entire frother in water. The jug is not dishwasher safe.

Descaling

Descaling is essential to maintain the machine's performance and ensure optimal coffee quality. The machine will indicate when descaling is needed (refer to the full instruction booklet for specific light indicators). Use only Nespresso descaling solution and follow the instructions provided with the descaling kit.

Troubleshooting
