5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover. The cover is reinforced to prevent accidental falling off.
- Insert 4 AAA batteries (not included) into the compartment, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
To power on the walkie talkie, press and hold the Power/Menu button until the screen lights up. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen turns off.
6.2 Adjusting Volume
While the walkie talkie is on, short press the Up or Down buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The volume level will be displayed on the LED screen.
6.3 Channel Selection
Your walkie talkies have 22 available channels. To change channels:
- Short press the Power/Menu button once. The current channel number will flash on the screen.
- Use the Up or Down buttons to select your desired channel.
- Press the Power/Menu button again to confirm your selection, or wait a few seconds for it to automatically confirm.
For communication, all walkie talkies must be set to the same channel.

6.4 Transmitting and Receiving
- To Transmit (Talk): Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button located on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button when you are finished talking.
- To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive transmissions from other units on the same channel.
6.5 Call Tone
To send a call tone to other walkie talkies on the same channel, short press the Call/Lock button.
6.6 Flashlight Function
To turn on the built-in flashlight, short press the Lamp/Scan button. Short press again to turn it off.
6.7 Key Lock
To prevent accidental button presses, long press the Call/Lock button until a key icon appears on the screen. To unlock, long press the button again.
6.8 VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
The VOX function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. When VOX is active, the walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.
- Press the Power/Menu button three times until "VOX" appears on the screen.
- Use the Up or Down buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or "OF" to turn VOX off.
- Press the Power/Menu button to confirm.
6.9 Scanning Channels
To scan for active channels, long press the Lamp/Scan button. The walkie talkie will cycle through channels and stop on any active transmission. Press PTT to talk on that channel, or any other button to stop scanning.
