Setup

1. Battery Installation

The CASIO FX-9860GIII requires four (4) AAA alkaline batteries for operation. Ensure the calculator is turned off before installing or replacing batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the calculator.
  2. Slide the cover off in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  3. Insert four new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as marked inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it until it clicks into place.

Note: Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the calculator will not be used for an extended period.

2. Initial Power On and Display Adjustment

Press the AC/ON button to turn on the calculator. If the display is too dim or too bright, adjust the contrast:

  • Press SHIFT then MENU (SETUP).
  • Navigate to the Contrast setting using the arrow keys.
  • Adjust the contrast using the left and right arrow keys.
  • Press EXIT to save and exit.

3. USB Connectivity

The calculator supports USB connectivity for data transfer to and from a computer. A USB cable is included with the product.

  • Connect one end of the USB cable to the calculator's USB port.
  • Connect the other end to a USB port on your computer.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts on the calculator and computer to establish a connection and transfer data.
