5. Installation Instructions

This faucet is designed for single-hole deck mounting. Follow these general steps for installation. Specific diagrams and detailed instructions may be included in a separate guide provided with the product packaging.

5.1 Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off the main water supply to the installation area.
  2. Clear the area under the sink for easy access.
  3. Ensure your sink or countertop has a single faucet hole with a diameter of 1-3/8 inches. The maximum deck thickness supported is 2-1/2 inches.
  4. Remove any existing faucet. Clean the mounting surface thoroughly.

5.2 Faucet Mounting

  1. Insert the faucet body into the mounting hole on the sink or countertop.
  2. From underneath the sink, secure the faucet using the provided mounting hardware (washer, mounting nut). Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to snug it firmly, ensuring the faucet is properly aligned. Do not overtighten.

5.3 Water Supply Connections

  1. Connect the hot and cold water supply lines from the faucet to the corresponding hot and cold water supply valves. Use a wrench to tighten connections, but do not overtighten.
  2. Ensure the pull-down hose is properly connected to the faucet's main body and the counterweight is installed on the hose as per specific product instructions to allow smooth retraction.

5.4 Post-Installation

  1. Once all connections are made, slowly turn on the main water supply.
  2. Check for any leaks at all connection points. Tighten if necessary.
  3. Remove the spray head and flush the faucet for a few minutes to clear any debris from the water lines. Reattach the spray head.

6. Operating Instructions

Operating your Perrin & Rowe Georgian Era Faucet is straightforward:

  • Water Flow and Temperature: Use the single lever handle to control both water flow and temperature. Move the handle up to increase flow and down to decrease. Move it left for hot water and right for cold water.
  • Pull-Down Sprayer: Grasp the spray head and pull it down from the spout. The hose will extend, allowing you to direct water where needed.
  • Spray Functions: The spray head features two functions. Press the button or toggle on the spray head to switch between a steady stream and a powerful spray.
  • Retracting Sprayer: When finished, guide the spray head back into the spout. The counterweight on the hose will assist in smooth retraction.
  • Swivel Spout: The entire spout can be rotated 180 degrees to move it out of the way or direct water to different areas of the sink.

7. Maintenance and Care

Proper care will preserve the finish and functionality of your faucet:

  • Cleaning: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  • Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, ammonia-based cleaners, or cleaners containing bleach, acids, or alcohol. These can damage the Satin English Gold finish.
  • Aerator Maintenance: Periodically unscrew the aerator from the spray head and clean any mineral deposits or debris. Rinse and reattach.
  • Hose Maintenance: Ensure the pull-down hose moves freely under the sink and is not obstructed by items or kinks.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Low Water Flow:
    • Check if the aerator is clogged with debris. Clean it as described in Maintenance.
    • Ensure water supply valves are fully open.
    • Inspect supply lines for kinks or obstructions.
  • Leaks from Faucet Base:
    • Tighten mounting nut under the sink.
    • Check if the O-rings or gaskets are properly seated or damaged.
  • Leaks from Handle:
    • The ceramic disc cartridge may need to be inspected or replaced. Consult a plumber or contact customer support.
  • Sprayer Not Retracting:
    • Ensure the counterweight on the hose is correctly positioned and not obstructed.
