4. Setup

4.1. Attaching Sandpaper

1. Ensure the sander is unplugged from the power source.
2. Align the holes on the 5-inch hook-and-loop sanding disc with the holes on the sanding pad.
3. Press the sanding disc firmly onto the pad to secure it.

4.2. Attaching the Dust Bag

1. Slide the dust bag onto the dust port until it locks securely in place.
2. For enhanced dust collection, the dust port can be connected to a DEWALT DWV010 or DWV012 dust collector, or other vacuum systems with 1-1/4 inch hoses using the DWV9000 Universal Quick Connector.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off

• To turn the sander ON, push the power switch to the "I" position.
• To turn the sander OFF, push the power switch to the "O" position.

5.2. Adjusting Speed

• Rotate the variable speed dial to select the desired OPM (Orbits Per Minute). Lower settings are suitable for delicate work or heat-sensitive materials, while higher settings are for aggressive material removal.

5.3. Sanding Technique

• Hold the sander firmly with both hands.
• Place the sander flat on the workpiece before turning it on.
• Move the sander in smooth, overlapping passes. Avoid applying excessive pressure; the weight of the tool is usually sufficient.
• Keep the sander moving to prevent swirl marks or gouging the material.
• Always sand with the grain of the wood for best results.
