7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Printer not turning on:
Ensure the battery is correctly installed and fully charged. Check if the battery had an insulation paste; if so, remember to peel it off before usage.
  • Cannot connect via Bluetooth:
Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Remember that the printer requires connection through a compatible POS application, not directly through your device's Bluetooth settings. Ensure the printer is within range.
  • No print output or blank pages:
Check if the thermal paper is loaded correctly and facing the right direction. Thermal paper has a specific side that reacts to heat. Ensure the paper roll is not empty.
  • Poor print quality:
The print head might be dirty. Refer to the maintenance section for cleaning instructions. Ensure you are using high-quality thermal paper.
  • Printer not recognized by POS app:
Confirm that your POS application is listed as compatible with the NETUM printer (refer to Section 4.2). Update your POS application to the latest version.

8. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your NETUM printer.

  • Cleaning the Print Head:
Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the thermal print head. Allow it to dry completely before closing the cover. Perform this regularly to prevent print quality degradation.
  • Exterior Cleaning:
Wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Paper Storage:
Store thermal paper rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to preserve their quality.
  • Battery Care:
For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% and remove it from the printer. Recharge periodically if not in use for extended periods.
