Safety Instructions
General Power Tool Safety Warnings:
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, and a dust mask. Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool.
- Power Tool Use and Care: Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to the battery pack, picking up, or carrying the tool. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Use the correct power tool for your application. Do not force the power tool.
- Maintenance: Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.
Specific Circular Saw Safety Warnings:
- Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Do not reach underneath the workpiece.
- Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece.
- Never hold the workpiece in your hands or across your leg while cutting. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.
- Check the lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate the saw if the lower guard does not move freely and close instantly.
- Always use blades of the correct size and shape for the arbor hole.
- Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolts.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
Ensure the tool is switched off before installing or removing the battery pack.
- Align the battery pack with the receptacle on the tool.
- Slide the battery pack into the receptacle until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.
2. Saw Blade Installation
Always disconnect the battery pack before changing the saw blade to prevent accidental startup.
- Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the blade from rotating.
- Use the provided wrench to loosen the blade retaining screw by turning it clockwise (this is a left-hand thread).
- Remove the outer flange and the old saw blade.
- Clean the inner flange and the blade mounting area thoroughly.
- Place the new saw blade onto the inner flange, ensuring the rotation direction arrow on the blade matches the arrow on the saw's housing.
- Replace the outer flange and tighten the blade retaining screw counter-clockwise (left-hand thread) firmly with the wrench while holding the spindle lock.
3. Adjusting Cutting Depth
The cutting depth should be set so that the blade teeth protrude slightly below the workpiece, typically by about 2-3 mm, for efficient cutting and reduced kickback.
- Loosen the depth adjustment lever.
- Move the base plate up or down to achieve the desired cutting depth, using the depth scale as a guide.
- Tighten the depth adjustment lever securely to lock the setting.
4. Adjusting Bevel Angle
The saw can make bevel cuts up to 45 degrees for angled cuts.
- Loosen the bevel adjustment lever.
- Tilt the saw to the desired angle, indicated on the bevel scale.
- Tighten the bevel adjustment lever securely to lock the angle.
Operating Instructions
1. Starting and Stopping
- To start the saw, first press the safety lock-off button (if present), then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop the saw, simply release the trigger switch. The blade will come to a stop.
2. Making a Cut
- Secure the workpiece firmly with clamps to prevent movement during cutting.
- Position the saw on the workpiece with the front of the base plate resting on the material. Ensure the blade is not touching the workpiece before starting the saw.
- Start the saw and allow the blade to reach full speed before engaging the material.
- Slowly guide the saw through the workpiece, maintaining a steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw, as this can lead to kickback or damage to the tool/blade.
- After completing the cut, release the trigger switch and allow the blade to stop completely before lifting the saw from the workpiece.
3. Dust Extraction
For a cleaner work environment and improved visibility, connect a suitable dust extraction system (e.g., a shop vacuum) to the dust extraction adapter on the saw.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Regularly clean the ventilation slots and the saw blade area to prevent dust buildup, which can affect performance and motor life. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Do not use water or solvents, as these can damage the tool's electrical components or plastic parts.
Blade Care
Inspect the saw blade regularly for sharpness, cracks, or missing teeth. A dull or damaged blade can cause binding, kickback, and poor cut quality. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately with a suitable replacement blade (165mm diameter, 20mm arbor hole).
Storage
Store the saw in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children. Always remove the battery pack before storing the tool for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | Battery not charged or improperly installed; safety lock-off not engaged. | Charge battery, ensure proper installation, press safety lock-off before trigger. |
| Saw cuts slowly or binds | Dull or incorrect blade; incorrect cutting depth; forcing the saw; workpiece not secured. | Replace blade, adjust depth, reduce feed pressure, secure workpiece firmly. |
| Excessive vibration | Damaged or unbalanced blade; loose components; worn bearings. | Inspect/replace blade, check for loose screws and tighten, contact service if bearings are suspected. |
| Poor cut quality (rough edges, splintering) | Dull blade; incorrect blade type for material; too fast feed rate. | Replace blade, use appropriate blade for material, reduce feed rate. |
