Setup
1. Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the NP-W235 battery. This battery requires an external wall charger (not included with the battery itself) for charging. Connect the battery to a compatible Fujifilm charger and plug the charger into a power outlet. Refer to your charger's instruction manual for specific charging procedures and indicators.
2. Inserting the Battery
Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the battery. Open the battery compartment cover on your compatible Fujifilm camera or vertical battery grip. Align the battery with the compartment's contacts and insert it firmly until it clicks into place. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Operating
1. Powering On/Off
After inserting a charged battery, power on your camera using its designated power switch. To power off, use the same switch. Always power off the camera before removing the battery.
2. Battery Life
The NP-W235 battery is designed for extended use. Under consistent operation, it can provide approximately 4-5 hours of power. Actual battery life may vary based on camera settings, usage patterns (e.g., video recording, continuous shooting, LCD/EVF usage), and environmental conditions.
3. Compatibility
This battery is specifically designed for Fujifilm cameras. Compatible models include, but are not limited to, the Fujifilm X-T4, GFX100S, and GFX50S II. It is not compatible with cameras from other manufacturers such as Canon or other DSLR systems. Always use genuine Fujifilm batteries for optimal performance and safety.
Maintenance
1. Storage
Store the battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, it is recommended to charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity. Avoid storing fully charged or completely depleted batteries for extended periods.
2. Cleaning
Keep the battery terminals clean. If they become dirty, wipe them with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or other harsh chemicals.
3. Disposal
Do not dispose of the battery in household waste. Lithium-ion batteries should be recycled or disposed of according to local regulations. Contact your local waste management authority for information on proper battery recycling.
Troubleshooting
1. Battery Not Charging
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the charger.
- Verify the charger is properly connected to a working power outlet.
- Check for any visible damage to the battery or charger.
- Try charging a different battery (if available) to determine if the issue is with the battery or the charger.
2. Battery Not Powering Camera
- Confirm the battery is fully charged.
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the camera's battery compartment.
- Check the camera's power switch and settings.
- If possible, try a different charged battery to isolate the problem.
3. Shortened Battery Life
- Review camera settings that consume more power (e.g., continuous video recording, high screen brightness, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth usage).
- Ensure the battery is not old or degraded. Lithium-ion batteries naturally lose capacity over time and charge cycles.
- Operating in extremely cold environments can temporarily reduce battery performance.
