2. Foot Pedal Connection

For hands-free speed control, connect the foot pedal to the Foot Pedal Port on the machine.

3. Attaching the Extension Table

The extension table provides a larger work surface for bigger projects. To attach, align the table with the machine's base and slide it into place. Ensure it is securely seated to prevent movement during sewing.

4. Threading the Machine

The machine comes pre-threaded from the factory for testing purposes. If re-threading is needed, follow the numbered threading path indicated on the machine. Incorrect threading is a common cause of issues.

Threading step 1: Correct vs. Incorrect upper thread setup

Threading step 2: Loosening tension before threading

Threading step 3: Pulling out 4 inches of thread

Image: Visual guide showing the need to pull out approximately 4 inches of thread after threading to facilitate catching the bottom thread.

5. Needle Installation

When installing a new needle, ensure the flat side of the needle faces the right side of the machine (throat plate) and the thread passes through the needle from left to right.

6. Bobbin Installation

Insert the bobbin into its compartment, ensuring the thread pulls out in a clockwise direction. Incorrect bobbin installation can lead to stitching problems.

Operating Instructions

1. Selecting Speed

Use the speed button on the machine to switch between "high" and "slow" speeds. The slow speed is recommended for beginners or intricate work.

2. Starting and Stopping

  • Button Operation: Press the ON/OFF switch to start or stop sewing.
  • Foot Pedal Operation: With the machine on, press the foot pedal to start sewing and release to stop.

3. Straight-Line Sewing

This machine is designed for straight-line sewing with a fixed stitch width and length. It does not have a reverse function. Guide the fabric gently under the presser foot.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin area and under the needle plate using a small brush. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.

2. Needle Replacement

If the needle becomes bent or dull, replace it with a new one. Always use appropriate needles for your fabric type. Refer to the video below for guidance.

3. Bobbin Winding

To wind new thread onto an empty bobbin, place the empty bobbin on the winding pole. Guide the thread from the main spool through the tension disc and onto the bobbin. Start the machine at a slow speed to wind the thread evenly. Once full, cut the thread and remove the bobbin.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your sewing machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Thread Breaking:
    • Check if the machine is threaded correctly (refer to Setup section).
    • Ensure the upper thread tension is not too tight.
    • Verify the needle is installed correctly and is not bent or dull.
    • Make sure the thread is suitable for the fabric being sewn.
  • Stitches Skipping or Uneven:
    • Re-thread the machine completely, ensuring all guides are followed.
    • Check the bobbin installation and ensure the thread is pulling clockwise.
    • Adjust the upper thread tension.
    • Replace the needle.
  • Machine Jamming:
    • Turn off the machine immediately.
    • Remove any tangled threads from the needle plate and bobbin area.
    • Ensure the fabric is not too thick for the machine (refer to Applicable Fabrics table).
    • Check for correct threading and tension.
  • Machine Not Starting:
    • Verify the power adapter is securely plugged in or batteries are correctly inserted and charged.
    • Check the ON/OFF switch position.
    • Ensure the foot pedal is properly connected if being used.
