Setup

1. Charging the L2 Mini Preamp

The LAVA U features an integrated L2 mini preamp with FreeBoost technology, powered by a Lithium Ion battery. Before first use, or if the effects are not functioning, ensure the battery is fully charged.

  1. Locate the USB charging port on the L2 mini preamp, typically found on the side of the ukulele body.
  2. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the ukulele's USB port and to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or computer USB port.
  3. Allow several hours for a full charge. The charging indicator light will typically change color or turn off when charging is complete.

2. Tuning the Ukulele

The LAVA U comes with fluorocarbon strings and high-quality tuners designed for stable tuning. It is recommended to tune the ukulele before each playing session.

Operating the LAVA U

1. Using FreeBoost Effects

The L2 mini preamp with FreeBoost technology allows you to apply effects like Reverb, Delay, and Chorus without needing an external amplifier. These effects are generated directly by the ukulele's body.

  1. Turn on the L2 mini preamp by pressing the On/Off button.
  2. Adjust the desired effect using the control knobs located on the side of the ukulele. One knob typically controls Reverb, while another controls a combination of Chorus and Delay.
  3. Experiment with different settings to find your preferred sound.

2. Connecting to an Amplifier
