Door Preparation Requirements

- Existing Hardware: If replacing an existing deadbolt and a separate lever/knob, ensure the door meets the bore hole and thickness requirements.
- Incompatible Setups: The lock is not compatible with single bore hole doors (unless an additional hole is drilled for the deadbolt) or doors with mortise locks.
Step-by-Step Installation
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door meets the specifications outlined above. If necessary, prepare the door with the correct bore holes and backset.
- Install the Deadbolt Latch: Insert the deadbolt latch into the edge of the door. Ensure the 'UP' arrow on the latch is facing upwards.
- Install the Exterior Keypad: Feed the cable from the exterior keypad through the lower bore hole and position the keypad on the exterior side of the door.
- Install the Interior Mounting Plate: Secure the interior mounting plate to the exterior keypad using the provided screws. Ensure the cable is not pinched.
- Connect the Cable: Connect the cable from the exterior keypad to the interior assembly.
- Install the Interior Assembly: Attach the interior assembly to the mounting plate, securing it with the remaining screws.
- Install the Valdosta Lever: Follow the separate instructions provided for installing the Valdosta lever below the deadbolt.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly and insert the 4 AA batteries.
- Test the Lock: Manually extend and retract the deadbolt. Test the keypad by entering a default code (if applicable) or setting a new master code.
Setting a Master Entry Code
The master entry code must be set first for security purposes. This code is used to access programming features.
- Wake up the keypad by touching it.
- Press the gear icon (⚙) followed by the # key.
- Enter the 4-8 digit master entry code you wish to set, followed by the # key.
- Repeat the master entry code, followed by the # key to confirm.
Operating Instructions
Unlocking the Door
- Using an Entry Code: Wake up the keypad by touching it. Enter your 4-8 digit entry code followed by the check mark (✓) key. The deadbolt will retract.
- Using a Key (Keyed Lever Model): Insert the physical key into the cylinder on the exterior side of the Valdosta lever and turn to unlock.
Locking the Door
- From Exterior: Touch any key on the keypad for 1 second. The deadbolt will extend.
- From Interior: Rotate the thumbturn on the interior assembly to extend the deadbolt.
Auto-Relock Feature
The Auto-Relock feature automatically locks the door after a set period (default is 30 seconds) once it has been unlocked. This feature can be enabled or disabled through the lock's programming menu.
